I hav thyroid from past 12yrs and is nt in control, it keeps on varying and rt now I am taking 100mg of thyroxin tablet, and hav lot of hair fall, can u suggest me wht to do

Thyroid imbalances, especially when unmanaged, can certainly contribute to symptoms like hair fall. To address these concerns, consider integrating Ayurvedic practices that target thyroid regulation and overall health.

First, consistency in your medication is crucial. Ensure you’re taking the thyroxin tablet as prescribed, regularly without missing doses. Next, let’s focus on diet. According to Ayurvedic principles, managing agni (digestive fire) is essential. Consume warm, cooked foods. Try kitchari, a nourishing blend of rice and lentils, as it is easy to digest. Include spices like turmeric, cumin, coriander which help in balancing the doshas and improve thyroid function. Avoid raw foods and reduce intake of vegetables like cabbage and cauliflower, known as goitrogens, that can interfere with thyroid function.

Remember, hair health is closely connected to your nutritional intake and overall dosha balance. Amla (Indian gooseberry) is beneficial both externally and internally. You can take amla juice or powder daily. Also, massaging scalp with Brahmi or Bhringaraj oil helps strengthen the roots and promotes hair growth. Do this twice a week, preferably before washing hair.

Yoga and Pranayama can also be effective. Sarvangasana (shoulder stand) and Ujjai Pranayama can help stimulate the thyroid gland. Practice these daily in the morning for better results. Stress reduction is equally important. Simple practices like mediation or even relaxing walks can greatly support hormonal balance.
