Managing prostate enlargement, particularly when urinary flow becomes an issue, can definitely be approached with Ayurveda. Central to this is understanding the balance of Vata dosha, which can often be aggravated in these conditions. Start by observing your diet and daily routine, as these have significant impacts on urinary health and prostate function.

In terms of diet, reduce intake of heavy, oily, and excessively spicy foods which may worsen symptoms. Instead, include foods that are easy to digest — include green leafy vegetables, fruits like pomegranate and watermelon, and whole grains. Stay well-hydrated but try taking small sips rather than large amounts at once, which can overload your system.

Triphala, a traditional Ayurvedic formulation, may help improve digestion and relieve pressure on the urinary system. Take it by mixing one teaspoon in warm water before bedtime. Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) is another valuable herb, known for supporting healthy prostate function. A typical dosage is about 500 mg of powdered Gokshura root, twice daily, but consult with a qualified practitioner to determine the right form and dose for you.

For exercises, consider incorporating pelvic floor exercises, known as Kegel exercises, into your routine. These exercises help strengthen the muscles around the bladder and can improve urinary flow. To perform them, gently contract the pelvic floor muscles as if you’re trying to stop the flow of urine, hold for a few seconds, and then release. Do this exercise several times a day.

Avoid habits that can aggravate your condition — limit caffeine, alcohol, and ensure you maintain regular, moderate physical activity which help’s in managing stress and keeping overall body balance. Reducing stress through practices like yoga and meditation could benefit as well, as stress can aggravate Vata imbalances.

Always make sure to have regular check-ups with health professional, particularly if you notice persistent changes in urinary habits or any discomfort during urination, as these might require conventional medical treatments. Seek a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized advice and ensure any herbal supplements or treatments do not interfere with current medications or health conditions.

Prostate enlargement, or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), is common and may lead to urinary issues like slow flow. From a Siddha-Ayurvedic viewpoint, it involves vata dosha disturbance, impacting the urinary and reproductive systems. Aimed efforts can help manage symptoms effectively.

First, consider dietary changes—reduce intake of spicy, stimulating foods aggravating vata. Favor a grounding, nutritious diet rich in cooked vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats. Hydration is crucial, though avoid excessive fluid intake before sleep to reduce nighttime urination.

Practices like yoga and specific exercises enhance circulation and strengthen pelvic muscles. Kegel exercises focus on the pelvic floor, which can aid urinary flow; simply contract and hold for 5 seconds, then release, repeat 10 times, 3 times daily.

Herbal formulations can help balance vata and support prostate health. Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) is known for maintaining urinary tract function and promoting flow. Combine it with Varuna (Crataeva nurvala) and Shatavari (Asparagus racemosus) for synergistic effects. Standardize doses with a skilled practitioner for safety.

Consult a healthcare professional if symptoms worsen or involve burning, pain, or blood. Such signs could indicate more serious conditions needing immediate attention. While Siddha-Ayurveda provides valuable support, never substitute it for professional medical assessment, especially in urgent situations.
