Doctors' responses

Psoriasis on the scalp for many years usually indicates a deep rooted inflammatory and immune imbalance and it is good that you have already undergone panchakarma and are regularly taking gandakha rasayana kaishor guggulu and mahatiktakam ghee as these medicines work at the level of blood purification inflammation control and skin nourishment and they should be continued if digestion and tolerance are good If scaling and itching are still moderate additional support can be given to regulate immunity and calm skin inflammation Guduchi capsule one twice daily or a mild guduchi decoction can be added Neem capsule once daily after food can help if dietary triggers cause flare ups Manjistha capsule once daily is useful to support blood circulation and reduce chronic skin congestion For local scalp care avoid harsh medicated shampoos and frequent washing Gentle oiling with neem oil or coconut oil infused with neem or bhringraj two to three times a week before head wash can reduce dryness and scaling After washing allow the scalp to dry naturally and avoid scratching Dietary discipline remains very important Even small deviations can trigger symptoms Avoid curd at night sour fermented food excess salt spicy oily items and packaged food Emphasize warm cooked meals vegetables bitter greens adequate hydration and regular meal timings Long standing psoriasis improves slowly and consistency over months is needed rather than frequent change of medicines

Current treatment is solid. ✓Recommended Additions (start today – 60–90 days) Jatyadi Ghrita or Mahamarichyadi Taila – apply thin layer on scalp at night and leave overnight or 2–3 hours → wash with mild herbal shampoo (Triphala / Neem-based) in morning This is the most important missing piece for scalp psoriasis , heals scaling & itching fast. Haridrakhand – 5–10 gm at night with warm water (strong anti-allergic, reduces new flare-ups from dietary triggers) Arogyavardhini Vati – 1 tablet morning after breakfast (boosts liver detox & clears deeper Ama/Pitta – very helpful when internal treatment plateaus) ✓Diet – strict for next 4–6 weeks (this is key) Continue fruits/veg = but strictly avoid nightshades (tomato, brinjal, potato, capsicum, chilli), fermented food, curd at night, seafood, excessive citrus Eat daily: pomegranate, amla, bottle gourd (lauki), bitter gourd (karela), moong dal khichdi + 1–2 tsp ghee, thin buttermilk + roasted jeera No cold drinks, no leftovers, no late dinner (finish by 7 pm) ✓Daily Must-Do Warm sesame oil scalp massage 5–10 min before Jatyadi Ghrita (softens scales) 10 min Anulom-Vilom pranayama daily (reduces stress-triggered flares) Avoid scratching use soft comb only Regards Dr Gursimran Jeet Singh MD Panchakarma

Hello I get how frustrating it is dealing with scalp psoriasis for so long. It’s good that you’ve been doing Panchakarma and taking meds. Ayurvedic concern – Scalp psoriasis for 20 years – Scaling is medium – Just had Panchakarma (2 weeks ago) – Taking Gandhak Rasayan, Kaishor Guggulu, Mahatikta Ghrita – Diet seems to set off flare-ups What’s Happening According to Ayurveda You’ve got: Ekakushtha + Rakta Dushti + Pitta-Kapha acting up Scalp psoriasis isn’t just a skin thing – there’s: – Blood issues – Immune system being too sensitive – Liver feeling hot – Pitta hanging around in your skin too long Panchakarma helped clear out junk. Now, we need to rebuild and get your immune system on track. INTERNAL MEDICATION You’re already on some good stuff. Add these to keep things steady: 1. Mahamanjishthadi Kwath Mix 15 ml with 15 ml warm water. Have it after lunch and dinner. It’s a great blood cleanser for psoriasis. It stops new patches from forming. 2. Arogyavardhini Vati Take 1 tablet twice a day after you eat. – Fixes your liver – Lowers flare-ups –Helps clear out fats and junk 3. Khadirarishta Mix 15 ml with the same amount of water after dinner. It keeps your skin chill and stops itching and scaling. Keep Taking These – Gandhak Rasayan – Kaishor Guggulu – Mahatikta Ghrita These are key for psoriasis. EXTERNAL CARE (Super Important) Mix Neelibhringadi Taila + Karanj Taila (50:50) Gently massage it into your scalp at night. Wash it out in the morning with herbal shampoo. This will: – Shrink patches – Stop hair from falling out – Stop itching DIET PLANAVOID – Curd – Pickles – Tomato – Brinjal – Foods that are not fresh. – Baked goods – Alcohol – Paneer – Too many sour fruits ✅INCLUDE – Bitter veggies – Lauki, tori, pumpkin – Rice, moong dal – Fresh Buttermilk – Ghee LIFESTYLE CHANGE – Get to bed before 11 pm – No napping during the day – Watch your stress – big time – Light yoga, nothing too intense You can live a normal life despite Psoriasis with Ayurveda. Your Panchakarma set the stage – now stick with the Rasayana plan above. Wishing you calm, healthy skin and a clear mind. Warm Regards Dr Snehal Vidhate
