I am currrently trying to find my self a sunscreen that won't break out my skin. Is there any sunscreens that are budget friendly that won't worsen my acne? Doctors' responses

You have been dealing with acne for more than 6 months and it is understandable that getting breakouts every time you use sunscreen feels frustrating Even non greasy sunscreens can worsen acne when the skin is very sensitive inflamed or already under treatment with prescription medicines In combination and acne prone skin the pores get blocked easily and many sunscreen ingredients can irritate the skin barrier This does not mean you should stop sun protection completely but you need a very gentle and minimal approach Light mineral based sunscreens in small quantity usually suit better and physical protection like hats shade and avoiding strong sunlight are equally important From an ayurvedic point of view this kind of reaction shows excess internal heat and skin sensitivity so calming the skin from inside is as important as choosing the right product As the acne and inflammation reduce the skin will slowly tolerate sunscreen better With simple care patience and internal balance this problem can be managed safely over time

-For acne-prone skin, I recommend a non-comedogenic, oil-free, gel or fluid sunscreen. Look for products with SPF 30–50, preferably mineral-based (zinc oxide or titanium dioxide) or with soothing ingredients like niacinamide. Always patch-test first and double-cleanse at night to avoid clogged pores. Some budget-friendly options in the US include Neutrogena Clear Face, CeraVe Hydrating Mineral SPF, and La Roche-Posay Anthelios Melt-in Gel.

I UNDERSTAND HOW FRUSTRATING THIS HAS BEEN FOR YOU ESPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO PROTECT YOUR SKIN AND EVERY SUNSCREEN SEEMS TO WORSEN YOUR ACNE WHEN ACNE FLARES UP WITH SUNSCREEN IT USUALLY MEANS YOUR SKIN IS VERY SENSITIVE AND REACTIVE AND EVEN LIGHT FORMULAS CAN BLOCK PORES OR TRIGGER INFLAMMATION SINCE YOU HAVE COMBINATION SKIN AND HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH ACNE FOR MORE THAN SIX MONTHS YOUR SKIN BARRIER IS LIKELY ALREADY DISTURBED AND PRESCRIPTION MEDICINES CAN ALSO MAKE THE SKIN MORE IRRITABLE IN SUCH CASES EVEN NON GREASY OR GEL BASED SUNSCREENS MAY NOT SUIT IMMEDIATELY FROM AN AYURVEDIC POINT OF VIEW THIS INDICATES EXCESS INTERNAL HEAT OIL IMBALANCE AND SKIN SENSITIVITY SO THE FOCUS SHOULD FIRST BE ON CALMING AND STABILIZING THE SKIN FROM INSIDE RATHER THAN FORCING MULTIPLE TOPICAL PRODUCTS A VERY MINIMAL APPROACH WORKS BETTER IN SUCH SKIN TYPES FOR NOW I WOULD ADVISE USING A VERY LIGHT MINERAL BASED SUNSCREEN IN SMALL QUANTITY AND ONLY WHEN NECESSARY ALONG WITH AVOIDING PEAK SUN HOURS HATS AND PHYSICAL SUN PROTECTION ARE VERY IMPORTANT UNTIL YOUR SKIN SETTLES WE WILL WORK ON REDUCING ACNE AND SKIN REACTIVITY FROM THE ROOT LEVEL WITH INTERNAL SUPPORT AND SIMPLE SKIN CARE AND ONCE THE SKIN BECOMES CALMER YOU WILL BE ABLE TO TOLERATE SUN PROTECTION BETTER DO NOT WORRY THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE AND CAN BE MANAGED WITH THE RIGHT APPROACH AND PATIENCE

Some Tips: –Pick sunscreens that say non-comedogenic, oil-free, and lightweight. They’re less likely to clog pores or cause pimples. –Gels and fluids (either mineral or chemical) are usually better than creams if you have acne or combination skin. –If your skin is sensitive, stay away from heavy creams or sunscreens with lots of oils, perfumes, or thick stuff. –Wear sunscreen every day (SPF 30 or higher that protects against UVA and UVB rays), even when it’s cloudy. How to Use It 1. Wash your face. 2. If your skin is dry, put on a light moisturizer. 3. Put on sunscreen evenly 15–20 minutes before you go out. 4. If you’re outside, put it on again every 2–3 hours.
