Doctors' responses

Hello, Weight management after Menopause can be challenging, and it is important to understand that weight loss is very subjective. It depends on many factors such as metabolism, digestive power, sleep schedule, meal habits, hormonal changes, and overall gut health. Because of this, walking alone may not always be enough to reduce weight, especially if there is slow metabolism or sluggish digestion. In such cases, it is helpful to add some light exercises along with walking to stimulate metabolism. Diet should also be adjusted according to your digestive capacity and gut health, because improper digestion can lead to weight gain even if you are eating less. In Ayurveda, weight management is approached holistically. Certain Panchakarma procedures along with appropriate Ayurvedic medicines can help improve metabolism, digestion, and fat metabolism, which may support healthy weight management when done under the supervision of an Ayurvedic physician. A few simple lifestyle changes that may help: If you are drinking more than one glass of water first thing in the morning, try changing this habit. Instead, take a few sips of warm water slowly (sip by sip). Avoid sleeping immediately after meals, and especially avoid daytime sleeping. Try to walk about 100–200 steps around 45 minutes after each meal. This gentle movement helps stimulate gut movement and digestion, and may improve nutrient absorption and metabolism. Maintain regular meal timings and proper sleep to support metabolic balance. Weight loss journey needs patience and perseverance along with expert guidance, it would be better to consult an Ayurvedic physician who can evaluate your body constitution, digestion, metabolism, and hormonal changes and guide you with a personalized diet plan, suitable exercises, Panchakarma therapies, and Ayurvedic medicines.
