Namaste, Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition, so it usually cannot be cured permanently, but it can be well managed and controlled with proper care. Simple measures that may help: Avoid spicy, oily, junk food, and excessive non-veg, as they may trigger flare-ups. Keep skin well moisturized with natural oils like coconut oil. Avoid stress, as it can worsen psoriasis. Take regular sunlight exposure (morning) in moderation. Maintain good digestion, as skin health is closely linked to gut health. Avoid scratching or irritating the skin. Consistency in diet and lifestyle plays a major role in controlling symptoms. Ayurvedic medicines (Kerala Ayurveda) that may support skin health include: Kerala Ayurveda Mahamanjisthadi Kashayam – traditionally used to support skin purification and reduce inflammation. Kerala Ayurveda Gandhaka Rasayanam – sometimes used to support skin healing and reduce itching. Consult me for more advice and suggestions on the above medicines.

Psoriasis, in Ayurveda, is understood under Kusht Rog, commonly correlated with Kitibh or Ek Kushth. However, effective treatment always depends on a proper dosha analysis—understanding which dosha is aggravated and to what extent. It is generally a Sannipataj condition (involving all three doshas), which is why it takes time and a structured approach to heal. One of the major contributing factors is Viruddh Ahaar (incompatible diet), along with stress, which often triggers or worsens the condition. Many cases also begin from the scalp and gradually progress. That’s why a detailed clinical evaluation, including dosh–dushya sammurchana, is essential before starting treatment. As a basic guideline, you should: • Correct your diet • Avoid milk and curd (especially together or in incompatible forms) For proper management, I would strongly recommend a personalized consultation at Nirvaan Ayurved, where we can assess your condition in detail and plan a targeted treatment. Ayurveda works deeply on the root cause—so while it may take time, the goal is long-term healing with sustained dietary and lifestyle discipline.
