Namaste, Your symptoms — long-standing psoriasis patches on legs with severe itching, along with sunburn on the scalp — indicate skin inflammation with pitta-vata imbalance. The focus should be on calming inflammation, reducing dryness, and supporting skin healing from within. Simple measures that may help: Avoid spicy, sour, and very salty foods, as they can aggravate skin conditions. Prefer light, freshly cooked home food and include a small quantity of ghee in meals. Drink adequate water. Avoid direct sun exposure on the scalp and cover your head when going out. Do not scratch the patches, as it can worsen irritation. Use a mild herbal shampoo and avoid harsh chemical products. Proper sleep and stress control are also important, as they can influence flare-ups. Ayurvedic medicines with dose and timing: Gandhak Rasayan – 1 tablet, twice daily after food Mahatiktakam Kashayam – 15 ml with equal water, twice daily before food Arogyavardhini Vati – 1 tablet, twice daily after food Oils for application: For psoriasis patches – apply Pinda Taila or Eladi Keram gently twice daily For scalp sunburn – apply Bhringamalakadi Taila or Neelibhringadi Taila at night and wash in the morning These are traditionally used to help reduce itching, calm inflammation, and support gradual skin healing when combined with proper diet and lifestyle. Since psoriasis is a chronic condition, improvement may take a few weeks to months with consistent care. Consult me for more advice and suggestions on the above medicines.
