In Ayurveda, keloids are often compared to Vrana Granthi (abnormal growth at a wound site). This is typically seen as a Kapha-Vata dominant condition involving the vitiation of Rakta (blood) and Mamsa (muscle tissue). Because keloids have a high recurrence rate, Ayurveda focuses on both internal purification and external “softening” of the fibrous tissue. Internal Management is Blood Purification. Since the root cause involves Rakta Dushti (blood impurity), internal medicines are crucial I’m prescribing, 1. Kanchanar Guggulu: The primary Ayurvedic choice for any glandular or fibrous growth (Granthi). It helps scrape away excess tissue (Lekhana). 2. Mahamanjishtadi Kadha: A potent blood purifier that helps reduce the inflammatory drive behind keloid growth. 3. Triphala Guggulu: Useful for its anti-inflammatory properties and to balance the Medas (fatty/fibrous) tissue. Just take this.

–From an Ayurveda perspective, keloids can be understood as an imbalance of Kapha and Pitta dosha, leading to excessive tissue growth (Mamsa dhatu vriddhi) and improper wound healing. Management focuses on: - Balancing doshas through internal herbal medicines - Detoxification (Shodhana) if needed - Local applications (lepa) to soften and reduce the growth - Supporting proper skin healing and preventing further aggravation Treatment is gradual and aims to reduce size, improve texture, and prevent recurrence, rather than instant removal. –Internal Medicines: Kaishore Guggulu – 2 tabs twice daily after food Mahamanjisthadi Kwath – 15 ml with equal water, twice daily before food Haridra Khanda – 1 tsp twice daily 2. External Application: Kasisadi Taila – local application over keloids, twice daily (avoid on very sensitive facial skin if irritation occurs) 3. Shodhana (if feasible): Mild Virechana (purgation) under supervision 4. Pathya-Apathya (Diet & Lifestyle): Avoid: spicy, oily, fermented, junk food Include: turmeric, neem, green vegetables Avoid scratching/trauma to lesions Advice: Condition is chronic; treatment helps in reducing size, itching, and preventing further growth. Regular follow-up required

Namaste, Your concern — long-standing, multiple keloids on face, neck, chest, and back — indicates excessive scar tissue formation with pitta-kapha involvement at the skin level. The focus should be on reducing scar thickness, controlling further growth, and improving skin texture gradually. It is important to understand that keloids are difficult to completely remove with any system, but their size, hardness, itching, and appearance can be improved with consistent care. Avoid repeated irritation, friction, or pressure on the affected areas. Also avoid experimenting with multiple oils or products, as this can sometimes worsen the condition. Diet also plays a role — reduce very spicy, oily, and processed foods. Keep digestion balanced and hydration adequate. Ayurvedic medicines with dose and timing: Gandhak Rasayan – 1 tablet, twice daily after food Kaishore Guggulu – 1 tablet, twice daily after food Manjishtadi Kashayam – 15 ml with equal water, twice daily before food External care: Apply a thin layer of Kumkumadi Taila or Nalpamaradi Taila gently over affected areas Gentle massage only — avoid deep pressure or irritation These are traditionally used to support skin healing, reduce inflammation, and gradually improve scar quality when followed consistently. Very important: Avoid scratching or frequent touching Do not expect very fast changes — improvement is slow and gradual In severe keloids, combining with procedures (like injections you tried) under supervision may still be needed With consistent care, changes in texture and symptoms may be seen over a few weeks to months. Consultation can help tailor this further to your needs.

Hello, Keloids resemble a condition called Granthi/ arbuda like abnormal growth in Ayurveda. What is happening in your body: -Kapha Dosha aggravated-> excessive tissue growth, thick, raised scars -Pitta dosha aggravated-> redness, inflamamtion, itching/burning -Impure blood-> abnormal healing -Meda dhatu imbalane-> excess fibrous tissue deposition Since your keloids are -long standing -recurrent -resistant to injections This indicates a deep seated dosha imbalance + chronic tissue memory Treatment goals -reduce size and thickness -control itching , redness, pain -prevent further growth -improve skin texture gradually -avoid new keloid formation Complete removal with Ayurveda alone is rare, but visible improvement is achievable with consistency (3-6 months minimum) Internal treatment 1) Blood purifiers -Khadirarishta= 20ml + equal water twice daily after meals for 3 months =cleanses blood, reduces abnormal skin growth, helps itching and discoloration -Mahamanjsithadi kashaya= 15ml + warm water twice dialy before meals =strong anti inflammatory, improves skin healing, controls fibrosis tendency 2) Detox + metabolic correction -Kaishor guggulu= 2 tabs twice daily after meals =breaks abnormal tissue growth, reduces hard, fibrous swelling, improves metabolism of scar tissue 3) Liver + skin support -Arogyavardhini vati= 1 tab twice daily after meals =corrects liver function, important for skin disease , reduces chronic inflamamtion 4) Mild detox support -Triphala churna= 1 tsp at bedtime with warm water =improves digestion, clears toxins, supports long term healing External treatment 1) Medicated oils **Kumkumadi oil for face/neck -apply gently at night -improves texture and discolouration **Kasisadi taila (for thick keloids) - apply locally once daily =hels soften hard tissue, reduces thickness gradually **Murivenna -for inflamed/red keloids =soothing + healing 2) Herbal paste weekly 3-4 times -turmeric + sandalwood + Neem powder with rose water apply for 30 min wash off helps reduce itching, control growth, improve skin tone 3) Gentle local massage -use warm medicated oil -very light pressure only -improves circulation and softens tissues Avoid aggressive rubbing can worsen keloids Yoga and Pranayam Helps reduce internal inflammation + hormonal imbalance -Anulom Vilom= 10 min -sheetali= cooling effect (important for pitta0 -bhramari= stress reduction Yoga -bhujangasana -matsyasana -gentle stretching Diet -warm, freshly cooked meals -bitter foods neem, karela, methi -green vegetables -turmeric + black pepper -amla Drink warm water throughout the day Avoid -spicy, oily fried food -fermented foods curd at night, pickles -red meat -excess sugar -processed foods Home remedies 1) Aloe vera gel= apply twice daily soothes + hydrates 2) Turmeric + coconut oil paste= anti inflammatory, helps flatten slowly 3) Onion juice (mild natural scar reducer)=apply for 10-15 min, wash off Expected timeline -4-6 weeks=> itching, redness reduce -2-3 months => slight softening -3-6 months =>visible flattening (gradual ) Consistency is key. Irregular treatment = poor results Important precautions -avoid unneccessary skin trauma (piercing, acne picking) -avoid steroid overuse long term -do not scratch -use sunscreen on exposed keloids Your case is chronic but manageable. Ayurveda works slowly but deeply- especially when keloids are long standing The most effective approach for you -Internal medicines + external oils + strict diet Do follow Hope this might be helpful Thank you
