Hello, Seborrheic Dermatitis, often correlating with Darunaka in Ayurveda, is primarily a Vata-Kapha imbalance. In winter, the dry, cold air (Vata) increases skin flakiness, while internal moisture or oiliness (Kapha) allows the Malassezia fungus to thrive. Ayurveda views chronic recurrence as a sign of accumulated “Ama” (toxins) in the blood (Rakta) and lymph (Rasa). To stop it from coming back, you must address the internal “soil” where the fungus grows, rather than just treating the surface. For a focused, short regimen to manage and prevent recurrence: Internal medicines : 1. Mahathikthaka Ghritam: Take 10ml with warm water on an empty stomach early in the morning. This is excellent for chronic skin issues and “cooling” the blood. 2. Khadirarishtham: Take 15ml to 20ml mixed with an equal quantity of lukewarm water, twice daily after meals. This acts as a blood purifier to prevent seasonal flare-ups. External Application 1. Winsoria Oil: Apply gently on affected facial areas 30 minutes before bathing. It contains Vidapala (Wrightia tinctoria), which is specifically indicated for scaling and itching. 2. Eladi Keratailam: If the skin is very dry during winter, apply a few drops on the face after washing. It helps manage the Kapha-Vata balance and improves skin texture. Never wash your face with hot water; use lukewarm or room temperature water to avoid stripping natural oils, which triggers more oil production. During winter, reduce heavy, fermented foods (curd, bread) and excessive sweets, as these increase Kapha and fuel the dermatitis. Often, facial seborrhea originates from the scalp. Ensure you use an anti-dandruff treatment for your hair to prevent spores from falling onto your face.

Seborrheic dermatitis ek recurring condition hai, especially winter me, lekin Ayurveda se isko control aur recurrence kam kiya ja sakta hai. Yeh mainly dryness + internal imbalance ki wajah se baar-baar hota hai. Skin ko dry hone na dein. Harsh facewash aur baar-baar washing avoid karein. Light moisturizer ya coconut oil use karein. Diet par dhyan dein — spicy, oily, junk food aur excess sugar kam karein. Warm, simple food lein. Ghar par aloe vera gel ya neem water se halka wash kar sakte hain itching ke liye. Arogyavardhini vati – 1 tablet din me 2 baar after food Mahamanjishtadi tablet – 1 tablet din me 2 baar Gandhak rasayan – 1 tablet din me 2 baar Regular care se flare-ups dheere dheere kam honge.
