A stye that remains for more than a month without pain may have turned into a chalazion (blocked oil gland in the eyelid). In Ayurveda, this is commonly related to aggravated Kapha and Rakta dushti causing blockage and swelling. You may follow these simple Ayurvedic measures: Continue warm compress 3–4 times daily for 10 minutes to help drainage. Avoid rubbing or pressing the eyelid. Wash eyes gently with clean lukewarm water. Reduce oily, fried, very spicy, and junk foods which increase Kapha and inflammation. Take light, fresh, easily digestible meals and maintain good sleep. Ayurvedic support commonly used: Triphala eyewash (mild and properly filtered) at night. Triphala Guggulu or Kaishore Guggulu may help reduce chronic swelling and blockage. If the bulge keeps increasing, becomes red, affects vision, or does not improve, consult an eye specialist because some long-standing chalazions may require a small procedure for complete removal.
