Firstly do it- -Reduce screen brightness to match room lighting (avoid very bright screens). - Enable Dark Mode or use a gray/off-white background instead of pure white. -Increase text size and contrast to reduce eye strain. - follow the 20-20-20 rule: Every 20 minutes, Look at something 20 feet away, For 20 seconds. -Blink frequently and use preservative-free lubricating eye drops if dryness is present. - Keep the screen 50–70 cm away and slightly below eye level. - Consider blue-light reduction/night mode in the evening if it improves comfort. –Important eye check-up recommendations -----Since the sensitivity is predominantly in the right eye, it would be advisable to have a comprehensive eye examination by an Ophthalmologist to check: Whether your current glasses prescription is accurate -Dry eye disease -Corneal surface problems -Early cataract changes -----For most people with symptoms like yours, adjusting screen settings, treating dryness, taking regular breaks, and ensuring the correct spectacle prescription significantly improve comfort. However, because the sensitivity is noticeably greater in one eye, a detailed eye examination is recommended to rule out any underlying eye condition. —in ayurveda we co-relate it with Netra Shosha (ocular dryness) with Pitta-Vata aggravation causing eye strain and light sensitivity. ----Rx: 1) Saptamrit Loha – 1 tablet twice daily after food with ghee or honey for 6–8 weeks. 2) mahariphala Ghrita – ½ teaspoon at bedtime with lukewarm milk for 6 weeks. 3) wash with trifla twice a day to eyes 4) if dryness then use - carboxy methyl cellulose eye drops 1 drops 4 times a day —allopathic

From an Ayurvedic perspective, your symptoms suggest Netra Shrama (eye strain) along with possible aggravation of Alochaka Pitta (the aspect of Pitta governing vision) and mild Vata imbalance due to prolonged screen exposure. The fact that symptoms improve after taking breaks and are associated with dryness and fatigue supports this. Ayurvedic Recommendations 1. Reduce Eye Strain Follow the 20-20-20 rule: Every 20 minutes, look at an object 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Increase screen text size and reduce screen brightness. Use dark mode or a warm color filter when possible to reduce discomfort from white backgrounds. Ensure your spectacle prescription is up to date, as unequal power between the eyes can contribute to strain. 2. Eye Cooling Measures Wash your closed eyes with cool (not ice-cold) water 2–3 times daily. Place cotton pads soaked in cool rose water over closed eyelids for 10 minutes in the evening. Avoid excessive exposure to direct sunlight, heat, and prolonged screen use without breaks. 3. Diet for Pitta Balance Include: Amla (Indian gooseberry) Coconut water Cucumber Leafy vegetables Ghee in moderation Avoid excess: Very spicy foods Sour foods Fried and processed foods Excess tea, coffee, and late-night screen use 4. Ayurvedic Medicines (General Support) Triphala Ghrita – traditionally used for eye nourishment. Saptamrit Lauh – commonly prescribed for eye strain and vision support. Amla-based preparations for Pitta balance and eye health. 5. Lifestyle Practices Ensure 7–8 hours of sleep daily. Practice Palming: Rub your palms together and gently cup them over closed eyes for 1–2 minutes several times a day. Gentle Nadi Shodhana Pranayama may help reduce eye fatigue and Pitta aggravation.

In Ayurveda, the sensitivity you are experiencing suggests an imbalance in Alochaka Pitta, the sub-dosha responsible for vision and processing light. When Pitta is aggravated, it often manifests as heat, irritation, and heightened sensitivity to brightness (Tejas). The disparity in your refractive power likely adds further strain to the Netra (eyes), forcing the right eye to overwork. To soothe this, begin by managing your environment. Use a “Dark Mode” or “Night Mode” setting on all your devices to replace harsh white backgrounds with softer, darker palettes. You may also apply a warm, soft-yellow or amber filter to your screen to reduce the intensity of blue light, which is particularly aggravating to Pitta. Internally, focus on cooling the system. Consuming Triphala Ghrita a medicated ghee under proper guidance can be very nourishing for the eyes. Additionally, practicing Trataka (gazing at a small, steady flame) at a distance, followed by closing your eyes to visualize that light, can help strengthen the ocular muscles and balance your vision. For immediate relief during the workday, try Netra Tarpana or simply washing your eyes with cool, clean water or rose water. Please ensure you are wearing your prescribed corrective lenses regularly, as the difference in power between your eyes (anisometropia) can cause significant strain if not properly balanced. If this sensitivity persists or worsens, consult an ophthalmologist to rule out any underlying structural issues.

Sensitivity to bright white computer screens can be due to eye strain, uncorrected refractive error, dry eyes, glare sensitivity, or other eye conditions. Since your right eye has a higher power (+2.5) than the left (+1.0), ensure your spectacle prescription is up to date and consider an eye examination if symptoms are persistent. Take • Triphala Ghrita – 5 g (1 teaspoon) with warm milk at bedtime daily for 6–8 weeks. • Saptamrita Lauha – 1 tablet (250–500 mg) twice daily after food with honey or ghee for 6–8 weeks. • Instill 1–2 drops of sterile lubricating eye drops (artificial tears) if dryness is present. Lifestyle: • Reduce screen brightness and use dark mode when possible. • Follow the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look 20 feet away for 20 seconds. • Wear prescribed glasses while using the computer. • Avoid direct glare from screens and overhead lights.

••As an Ayurvedic practitioner, I look at this through the lens of Nisana (eye health) and the doshas. The eye is a predominant seat of Alochaka Pitta (the sub-dosha of Pitta responsible for vision and processing light). ••Here is a holistic Ayurvedic approach to soothe Alochaka Pitta, calm Vata, and protect your vision during screen work. 1. Direct Netra Chikitsa (Local Eye Care) Netra Tarpana & Seka (Cooling Eye Therapies) ••Triphala Netra Seka (Eye Wash): Boil 1 teaspoon of Triphala Churna in a glass of water, filter it completely through a clean muslin cloth so no particles remain, and let it cool to room temperature. Wash your eyes with this decoction in the morning. Triphala is Chakshushya (excellent for the eyes) and balances all three doshas. ••Pure Rose Water Drops: Instill 1–2 drops of premium, pure, organic distilled rose water (Gulab Jal) into your eyes before sleeping. It instantly calms the fiery Pitta sharp light sensitivity. Snehana (Lubrication) ••Padabhyanga (Foot Massage): In Ayurveda, specific nerves run from the soles of the feet directly to the eyes. Massage the soles of your feet with warm Go-Ghrita (Cow’s Ghee) or Ksheerabala Thailam before bedtime. This reduces systemic Vata and improves visual acuity and light tolerance. 2. Aushadhi & Ahara (Internal Supplements & Diet) ••Saptamrit Lauh: A classical Ayurvedic formulation specific to errors of refraction and eye strain. Taking 250 mg of Saptamrit Lauh mixed with a teaspoon of honey and half a teaspoon of cow’s ghee twice a day on an empty stomach can yield excellent results for refractive stability and strain. ••Go-Ghrita (Cow’s Ghee): Ghee is the absolute best pacifier for Pitta and Vata. Incorporate 1–2 teaspoons of pure A2 cow’s ghee into your daily diet, or drink a cup of warm milk with a teaspoon of ghee at night. ••Amalaki (Indian Gooseberry): Rich in Vitamin C and inherently cooling, taking 1 teaspoon of Amla Churna with water at night helps rejuvenate the ocular tissues. 3. Modern Ergonomics & Optical Adjustments •Because your right eye has a higher hyperopic power (+2.50), standard white screens act like a glaring spotlight on a muscle that is already strained. ••Enforce Dark Mode Everywhere: This is crucial. Switch your operating system, browser, and apps from a white background to a true Dark Mode. This immediately removes the harsh Pitta-aggravating glare. ••Blue Light Blocking & Anti-Glare Lenses: Ensure your prescription glasses have a high-quality Anti-Reflective Coating (ARC) and a blue-light filter. This filters out the sharpest, most irritating wavelengths of digital light. ••The 20-20-20 Rule (Netra Vyayama): Every 20 minutes, look away from the screen at an object 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds. Blink intentionally. This relaxes the ciliary muscles of your +2.50 eye, reducing the Vata-inducing strain.
