Hi Nomsa, Is the pain related to your menstrual cycle? Any specific triggers? Also have you done your hormonal assay?

Hello Nomsa, I would recommend exploring other aspects of your health to gain more clarity. In Ayurveda, chronic breast pain can be associated with an imbalance in the Vata and Pitta doshas, which could be exacerbated by stress, hormonal fluctuations, or dietary factors. To better understand the root cause, I would suggest asking about your menstrual cycle (regularity, pain, or other changes), any history of stress or emotional strain, your diet (particularly fatty or spicy foods), and your lifestyle habits (exercise, sleep patterns).

Additional investigations like a mammogram or a hormone profile could help rule out hormonal imbalances or other conditions that may not be visible on an ultrasound.

Firstly, I’m sorry to hear you’ve been dealing with pain for so long. I can imagine how frustrating it must be not to find any relief yet. Based on what you’ve shared, especially since scans and exams haven’t identified any issue, it’s possible you’re experiencing something that modern medicine hasn’t fully diagnosed in terms of energy balance.

In Ayurveda, an unexplained pain like you describe might suggest an imbalance in the doshas, particularly Vata or Pitta. Vata imbalance can cause erratic movements or sensations in the body, while Pitta affects inflammation and heat. You might think of Agni, the digestive fire, playing a part here too because digestion and overall bodily balance are so closely linked!

First thing for you to try is making some dietary adjustments. Favor warm, cooked foods over raw ones; think soups, stews, or gently sautéed veggies. Sprinkle cumin and fennel in there, these help calm Vata and Pitta. Avoid super spicy or overly sour foods for now, ok? Work on drinking lukewarm water throughout the day, maybe infuse with a little ginger if you like it, it supports Agni.

Now about daily routine - is there much stress or irregularity in your day-to-day? Consistency is so helpful for calming Vata. Try sleeping and waking at the same time each day, and include some gentle yoga or stretching. Those slow, rhythmic movements can really make a difference.

And then self-massage with warm oil might offer relief too! Sesame oil is great for balancing Vata because it’s nourishing. Take a bit in your palms, warm it up, and gently rub in circles around the breast areas. Do it at night or whenever you feel pain increasing.

If none of this seems to help after a couple weeks or if pain worsens, please make sure your checking back with a healthcare provider. There’s still the possibility of something needing closer examination, better to be sure!
