Hello Jade, Your symptoms suggest a Pitta-Vata imbalance, leading to heat sensitivity, skin irritation, and digestive discomfort. The itching and redness triggered by sun exposure, AC, and cold surfaces indicate aggravated Pitta, while the burning sensation and heartburn point to hyperacidity (Amlapitta). Managing excess heat in the body and improving digestion will help relieve these issues. Management- Take Mahamanjishthadi Kadha 10 ml twice daily to purify the blood and cool the body. Arogyavardhini Vati 1 tablet twice daily after meals to support liver detoxification. Avipattikar Churna 1 tsp with warm water before meals to reduce acidity and soothe digestion. Apply coconut oil or aloe vera gel to affected skin areas for a cooling effect. Drink coriander, cumin, and fennel tea to balance internal heat and aid digestion. Eat 10 soaked raisins in the morning to naturally cool the system. Practice Sheetali Pranayama (cooling breath) daily to reduce body heat. Apply sandalwood paste on the forehead and palms to calm heat-related symptoms. Avoid spicy, sour, fried foods, excessive tea/coffee, and alcohol. Eat cooling foods like coconut water, cucumber, sweet fruits, and ghee. Stay hydrated with room-temperature water, avoiding ice-cold drinks. Wear cotton clothes to prevent excessive heat retention. Limit sun exposure and apply aloe vera-based sunscreen when outdoors. Let me know if symptoms persist or worsen.

Hi Jade,

Can you tell me if you have noticed any patterns or specific triggers that worsen your itching, such as stress, certain foods, or specific times of the day? Also, how is your digestion—do you experience any bloating, indigestion, or changes in bowel movements? Lastly, regarding the heat and heartburn in your left side, does it happen after eating, or is it more frequent during the night? This will help me guide you with a more personalized approach.

It sounds like you’re dealing with some sensitivity to temperature changes, which can be really uncomfortable. From an Ayurvedic perspective, this could be related to a Pitta imbalance; Pitta dosha is associated with heat in the body. When there’s an excess, you might feel heat-related symptoms like the ones you’re describing, also the heartburns. Your body’s reaction to cold might be a bit of a different story, maybe showing vata imbalance too, when it relates to dryness and sensitivity of the skin.

First, let’s talk about managing the Pitta. It’d be helpful to avoid foods that increase Pitta – such as spicy or fried foods, caffeine, and alcohol. Instead, you could focus on cooling foods like cucumber, melons, sweet juicy fruits, coconut water - all those good refreshing things. Have your meals at regular intervals, don’t skip meals - balance is super important.

For the issue with temperature extremes, consider wearing layers so you can quickly adjust to temperature changes. When working with cold environments try wearing gloves. Skin-wise, apply cooling oils such as coconut and keep your skin hydrated using lotions suitable for sensitive skin. Add aloe vera gel to cool down inflamed skin areas.

For heartburn, try having lukewarm ginger tea to help digestion - but not too much since too much can be heating. If it feels hot on the left side maybe that’s indigestion; small dietary adjustments can correct this. Stay hydrated but not with ice-cold water, more like room temperature.

Remember, it might be good to track these reactions and see if they align with specific foods or stressors. And if symptoms don’t improve, it’s really worth a check with someone local, just to make sure everything’s alright!
