Hello Sraavz, your symptoms of cold, running nose, sneezing, rashes, and feeling hot inside the body suggest an imbalance in the Pitta dosha, which governs heat and inflammation, and possibly an aggravated Kapha dosha, which affects the respiratory system and mucus production. In Ayurveda, the body’s internal heat could be causing excessive sweating, while seasonal changes (like summer) can worsen these imbalances. The cold, sneezing, and rashes indicate an allergic or inflammatory response in the body, which may also be linked to Pitta and Kapha disturbance.

To manage these symptoms, you can start by focusing on cooling herbs and foods to reduce excess heat. Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) is a powerful herb that helps strengthen immunity, cools the body, and reduces inflammation. Amla (Indian gooseberry) is also excellent for cooling and balancing Pitta, as it has high vitamin C content, which supports the immune system and alleviates rashes. Turmeric and Tulsi (Holy Basil) are anti-inflammatory and immune-boosting herbs that can help reduce rashes and improve respiratory health. For the cold and congestion, you can drink Triphala tea, which helps clear mucus and supports digestion. Ashwagandha can help with concentration and mental clarity by calming the nervous system and reducing stress.

Sraavz, your symptoms—summer cold, sneezing, skin rashes, feeling hot inside, and lack of concentration—suggest an excess of Pitta and Kapha dosha in your body. This means your body is accumulating heat and mucus, causing allergic reactions and inflammation. Let’s balance them naturally.

1. Remedies for Summer Cold, Sneezing & Running Nose

✅ Tulsi & Black Pepper Tea – Boil 5 tulsi leaves + ½ tsp black pepper in water, drink warm twice daily. ✅ Amla & Honey – Take 1 tsp Amla powder with honey in the morning to boost immunity. ✅ Pippali (Long Pepper) Powder – Take ½ tsp with honey before breakfast to clear mucus and reduce sneezing. ✅ Steam Inhalation – Use Ajwain (Carom seeds) steam to open nasal passages.

🚫 Avoid cold foods/drinks (ice creams, cold water, curd at night) as they worsen mucus production.

2. Remedies for Rashes & Feeling Hot Inside

✅ Coriander & Mint Juice – Blend handful of coriander + mint leaves with water and drink every morning to cool the body. ✅ Sandalwood Paste – Apply on rashes for cooling relief. ✅ Buttermilk with cumin – Drink chilled buttermilk (chaas) with roasted cumin powder daily to reduce body heat. ✅ Coconut water – Naturally hydrates and removes toxins causing heat and rashes. ✅ Aloe vera juice (20 ml) + Amla juice (20 ml) – Take on an empty stomach to reduce internal heat.

🚫 Avoid spicy, fried, and sour foods (pickle, vinegar, excessive masala) ✅ Nuts & Seeds – Eat 5 almonds + 2 walnuts soaked overnight for brain health. ✅ Morning Sunlight & Deep Breathing – Spend 15 minutes in sunlight and practice Anulom Vilom pranayama daily.

Your Daily Action Plan

✅ Morning: • Drink Coriander-Mint Juice + Amla-Honey. • Take Brahmi syrup after breakfast. • Apply Sandalwood paste if rashes are present.

✅ Afternoon: • Drink Buttermilk with cumin or Coconut Water.

✅ Evening/Night: • Take Pippali with honey for sneezing. • Steam inhalation if nose blockage occurs. • Drink warm milk with nutmeg for restful sleep.

Conclusion

Your symptoms are caused by excess Pitta (heat) and Kapha (mucus). Following these remedies will balance your body, reduce summer allergies, and improve focus.

Summer, with its heat, can be such a hassle! Makes sense your experiencing these symptoms, it could relate to an imbalance in your Pitta dosha, which naturally increases with the heat. Pitta dosha is your fire energy, responsible for digestion and metabolism. In excess, it can cause symptoms like overheating, rashes, and even issues like sneezing. Let’s get you cooled down!

First thing, stay hydrated. Not just with plain water, but with drinks that cool you down, like coconut water, or cucumber-infused water. Avoid beverages that can heat you up more, like caffeine or alcohol.

Your meals, think light and cooling. Favor foods like melons, grapes, and zucchini. Try including dairy products like yogurt, diluted buttermilk (churned with water and a pinch of cumin), or milk to soothe the system. Stay away from spicy stuff, fried foods, and too much red meat—these just tend to heat you u even more.

For those rashes, a paste of sandalwood or a bit of aloe vera pulp can be really calming. Apply directly to the affected areas and leave it for awhile before washing it off. It’s like a natural coolant!

Your mind is all scattered? Try some meditation or yoga. Simple breathing exercises like ‘Sheetali pranayama’ can help cool both your body and your mind, creating a sense of peace.

And do this too: Get your sleep! Not enough can definitely make it harder to concentrate. Find a calming bedtime routine, maybe take a warm bath or sip some chamomile tea.

These rashes or symptoms persisting or worsening? Please reach out to a professional. While these tips sound gentle, it’s important not to ignore symptoms that could be pointing to an underlying issue. Take care and hope this helps!
