Your observations suggest a possible imbalance in your lifestyle and diet, contributing to inflammation along with other health concerns like indigestion, infections, and delayed wound healing. Prolonged stress, dietary habits like high fast food intake, and lack of exercise can exacerbate inflammation and skin conditions like psoriasis.
Ayurvedically speaking, an imbalance in doshas, particularly Pitta, may be responsible. Here’s how you can bring balance back:
1. Diet Adjustments: Incorporate more anti-inflammatory foods. Favor cooling and sweet foods like cucumbers, sweet fruits (such as pears and melons), and leafy greens. Gradually reduce fast food. Include turmeric and ginger in your meals, known for their anti-inflammatory properties.
2. Digestive Fire (Agni): Improve your digestion to reduce Ama (toxins). Start your day with warm water infused with a slice of lime to kickstart digestion. Avoid cold drinks and heavy meals, especially late at night.
3. Regular physical activity: Simple activities like brisk walking or yoga can boost circulation and reduce stress, which may contribute to inflammation. Just find 20-30 minutes a day.
4. Stress Management: Practice mindfulness or meditation. The simple act of focusing on your breath for a few minutes every day can make a big difference. You might also explore gentle yoga practices that promote relaxation.
5. Skin Care for Psoriasis: Application of oils such as coconut or neem oil can soothe irritated skin. Ensure to consult a dermatologist for tailored advice.
6. Bell’s Palsy: While Ayurveda can support, it’s crucial to follow any medical treatments from your healthcare provider. Gentle facial exercises might help, but consult with a specialist before undertaking them.
7. Sleep Routine: Establish a relaxing bedtime schedule. A cup of warm milk with a pinch of nutmeg or cardamom can promote restful sleep.
Adopting these practises slowly but consistently could promote balance and help in reducing the inflammation. However, always keep check-in with a healthcare professional especially when it comes to complex health conditions like Bell’s Palsy and Psoriasis. Stay patient, healing takes time.
