It sounds like you’re dealing with quite a few discomforts that have been persisting over time. Based on what you described, malfunction of the digestive system, known as agnimandhya in Ayurveda, might be at play here. Essentially, your digestive fire, or agni, is weak, and this is causing the build-up of ama, or toxins, leading to those symptoms. Since you’re predominantly vata-pitta, it’s important to balance both vata and pitta doshas.

To enhance your agni and try to manage these symptoms, consider starting your day with a glass of warm water with lemon and honey. This can help gently stimulate digestion. Since dairy products and high-protein foods are difficult for you, focus on light, warm, and cooked foods that are easier to digest, like soups or steamed vegetables. Spices like cumin, coriander, fennel, and turmeric are great allies as they can enhance digestion. Just be cautious, don’t go overboard with spicy or very oily foods as these can aggravate pitta.

Given your joint pain, you might want to supplement your diet with anti-inflammatory foods. Consider using ginger and turmeric in your cooking regularly. These have natural anti-inflammatory properties that could benefit your joints. Avoid foods that tend to generate gas and flatulence, such as beans, and when consuming them, pre-soak beans before cooking to make them easier to digest.

You mention your symptoms flare up with processed or heavy foods and occasional mistakes in your diet. It’s advisable to strictly avoid foods that you know are triggers for you. Try eating more small, regular meals through the day rather than two or three large ones. This can help in maintaining balanced agni levels.

Additionally, practicing yoga and pranayama can help balance vata-pitta and support joint health. Simple yoga poses like Cat-Cow or Wind-Relieving Pose might ease your bloating and help with digestion. As for nightfall and related issues, these can sometimes be helped through stress-reducing practices like meditation or regular sleep scheduling to ensure restorative rest.

Of course, strict adherence to dharmik lifestyle is essential. If symptoms persist or worsen, or if the joint pain becomes unmanageable, seeking in-person consultation with an Ayurvedic practitioner would be wise. They can provide personalized treatment tailored to your specific constitution.
