When you’ve been dealing with recurrent, painful external haemorrhoids, it becomes essential to address both the immediate discomfort and the root imbalances from an ayurvedic perspective. Your situation involves chronicity, making it crucial to maintain receptivity to long-term lifestyle and dietary alterations, targeting the sustainable relief.

Ayurveda links haemorrhoids (Arsha) to imbalances in Vata and Pitta doshas, often exacerbated by poor digestion and lifestyle habits. Begin by focusing on your diet: more fiber can help prevent constipation and ease bowel movements, reducing haemorrhoidal pressure. Incorporate foods like whole grains, green leafy vegetables, and fruits. Stay hydrated – aim for about 8-10 glasses of water daily, and warm water is preferable after meals to aid digestion.

Herbal remedies can be pivotal as well. Triphala is a revered Ayurvedic formulation that can help regulate bowel movements. Take 1 tsp in warm water before bed. ‘Triphala’ translates to ‘three fruits’, its gentle laxative and detoxifying properties are favorable. But, remember it’s not just about taking herbs, but aligning them with the right lifestyle.

Speaking of lifestyle, consider establishing a routine. Regularity in waking up, meals, and sleeping stabilizes Vata dosha. Avoid sitting for prolonged periods; standing or moving around gently can help circulate blood flow. Applying sesame oil around the anal area can soothe irritation and lubricate, its warmth counterbalancing Vata’s cold nature.

Yoga can also offer relief. Poses like Malasana (Garland Pose) and Viparita Karani (Legs-up-the-Wall Pose) enhance circulation in the pelvic area, promoting healing. However, don’t push into poses that make your discomfort worse.

When discussing past surgery, it’s clear your case might require more than non-invasive measures. If the pain persists or elevates, pursuing surgery could again be essential. Consult with your healthcare provider for a thorough assessment. Ayurveda complements but doesn’t substitute professional medical opinions where needed.

By walking this balanced path, integrating Ayurveda with conventional care, you’ll maximize your potential for lasting relief and health improvements.
