When dealing with H. pylori infection accompanied by heartburn, acidity, gas, and constipation, it’s essential to understand the root cause through the lens of Ayurveda. In Ayurveda, these issues often indicate an imbalance in the Pitta and Vata doshas. Pitta, with its fiery nature, leads to excessive acidity, while Vata dosha can cause constipation and gas due to its dry and irregular characteristics. Let’s pave the way for long-term relief, balancing your internal doshas, and enhancing your digestive fire, or Agni.

Taking Triphala at night can help alleviate constipation and cleanse the digestive tract. Mix a teaspoon with warm water before bed, this aids in regularizing bowel movements and reduces the bloating sensation. To specifically target the H. pylori infection, the combination of Amla (Indian Gooseberry) and Turmeric can be beneficial. A regular dose of Amla supplement or fresh juice with a pinch of turmeric can boost your gut health and reduce inflammation, just remember to take it on an empty stomach in the morning.

In terms of diet, moderation is crucial. Try to reduce spicy, oily, and heavy foods which aggravate Pitta dosha. Include cooling, easily digestible foods like cucumbers, steamed vegetables, and grains like rice and barley. Consume them in small, frequent meals rather than large meals which can overwhelm Agni. Herbal teas like licorice or chamomile can further soothe inflammation and assist digestion.

Lifestyle changes can also significantly help manage stress, a known factor for digestive issues. Pranayama or gentle yoga focusing on Pavanamuktasana (Wind-Relieving pose) can enhance your digestive capacity. Ensure you maintain regular mealtime and rest periods to help align your body’s natural rhythm with digestion.

Should symptoms worsen or if relief remains elusive, it’s wise to seek further medical attention promptly. Persistent H. pylori infections may require professional healthcare oversight to prevent complications. This harmony between modern medicine and Ayurveda, with mindful practices, can foster lasting wellness.
