Chronic anal fissures can indeed be stubborn and painful. As an Ayurvedic physician, I’d guide you towards a more balanced approach that targets the root cause, focusing on your body’s constitution and lifestyle specifics.

First, it’s crucial to assess your digestive health. An imbalanced Pitta dosha often contributes to issues like fissures. Start by including cooling foods in your diet– things like cucumber, coriander, cilantro and fresh coconut water. Avoid spicy, hot, and excessively sour foods, as these can exacerbate Pitta imbalances.

Ensure proper hydration to keep stool soft, which minimizes strain during bowel movements. Ayurveda suggests sipping warm water throughout the day; it’s easier for your body to assimilate and can aid digestive fire (Agni) without aggravating it.

Triphala churna, a classical ayurvedic formulation, can help in regulating bowel movements and promoting healing. Take about half to one teaspoon mixed in warm water, once daily before bed. It is known for its digestive benefits and gentle laxative action.

Externally, applying a mixture of coconut oil and a pinch of turmeric to the affected area can promote healing and soothe inflammation. Do this carefully and regularly after your sitz bath.

Examine any lifestyle factors contributing to stress or aggravation, as stress can lead to imbalances in Vata and Pitta doshas. Gentle yoga and meditation can aid in soothing your mind and body, reducing the sensation of pain.

If the condition persists despite these holistic attempts, please seek professional medical evaluation. Ayurvedic treatments could complement other interventions, but it’s important to be cautious and ensure integrated care.

Lastly, ensure regular follow-ups with a healthcare provider experienced in Ayurveda, as personalized guidance is essential for long-term healing. Healing might take time, but patience, consistency and mindful habits can provide essential relief.
