It’s one of powerful rasayana which may improve Agni but may not help in constipation For constipation you can try Triphala churna- 1 teaspoon with water at night Abhaya aristha- 40 teaspoon with equal quantity of water twice daily after food
Silajeet is useful in many ways One of it is that it helps in digestion But you can try Sukumar gritha two spoons with warm milk two times a day Triphala churna half spoon with warm water two times a day after meals
Shilajit has many minerals micronutrients, improves digestion But for constipation, Shilajit alone is not beneficial, you will have to take Triphala juice 20ml. Twice daily after food with water
Thanks for sharing so openly- your frustration is totally valid and you are not alone in dealing with chronic constipation and bloating
Shilajit is a powerful Ramayana(rejuvenating) in Ayurveda- known for Support Agni(digestive fire) Promote better metabolism and nutrient absorption Act as MILD LAXATIVE and detoxifier in some people not all helps rebuild gut strength when fatigue, stress or sluggishness is the root cause
But here’s the key- shilajit is NOT first line treatment for constipation if your constipation is due to Improper diet, dehydration , stress or sedentary lifestyle then Shilajit alone won’t fix the core issue- and might even be too heating for some individual.
better steps in your case 1) Tripphala at bedtime- 1 tso churna with warm water before bed very effective in chronic constipation
2 tsp castor oil + warm milk take on empty stomach - powerful colon cleanse(don’t overuse)
Maintain Gut Routine wake up by 6-7 am , drink warm water ( with ghee)- daily Add steamed veggies in dier fibre rich fruits, GHEE avoid dry snacks, bread, raw salads, cold foods at night daily WALKING- 30-45 MINUTES after food dinner Can take Shilajit- 3 times/ week- pea sized amount (250-300mg ) with warm water empty stomach in morning

Shilajit is indeed known for its wide range of health benefits in Ayurveda, but let’s get into whether it’s the right choice for dealing with constipation. Shilajit is a potent mineral-rich substance that can support digestion and improve overall vitality. It’s particularly beneficial for revitalizing the body and balancing Vata and Kapha doshas. However, when it comes to constipation, we have to consider your underlying dosha imbalance and the root cause.
Constipation, from an Ayurvedic perspective, often arises due to an imbalance in Vata dosha. This involves irregularities such as dryness, irregular bowel movements, and discomfort. Shilajit can assist in promoting digestive strength (Agni), but it’s more of a rejuvenative tonic rather than a specific remedy for constipation.
To boost digestive health and alleviate constipation, consider incorporating a few other remedies alongside shilajit:
First, try taking triphala, a traditional herbal blend known for its gentle, yet effective laxative properties. This works well for clearing the bowels and improving digestion. You can take a spoon of the powder with warm water before bed.
Secondly, maintain regular habits and avoid eating on the run. Eating in a calm setting, slowly, and with attention can actually enhance digestive function.
Another thing, hydrate yourself well throughout the day and include a healthy amount of healthy fats such as ghee or sesame oil in your diet to counteract the dryness caused by Vata imbalance.
As for shilajit, if you’re interested in using it, you can take a small amount (a rice grain size) dissolved in warm water, once daily. It’s typically safe, but if you notice any unusual effects – like discomfort – it’s wise to stop and consult a healthcare provider.
If problems persist, it’s important to consult a healthcare professional to rule out any underlying conditions that need addressing. Remember, Ayurveda stresses customization for individuals, so what works for one person may not work for another.
