can fatty liver grade 2 be cured - #24389

Lillian

I am feeling really stressed about my health lately. Got my recent tests back and turns out I have fatty liver grade 2. I was just like, "What??" I mean, I had no clue. I don’t drink alcohol much, but I've been eating pretty bad with junk food and maybe too much sugar… ugh! The doctor said losing weight could help, but I'm worried. Really worried. I’ve tried diets before and failed, and now I’m thinking can fatty liver grade 2 be cured? I've read some stuff about using Ayurveda for liver health, but I don't know where to start. Is there any special herbs or remedies that I can take? Can fatty liver grade 2 be cured with diet changes or herbal treatments? And honestly, what's the success rate in your experience? Feeling kind of lost here, and every time I think about it, I just want to scream! Any advice would be super helpful, thanks a lot.

Fatty liver grade 2 is a condition where there is an accumulation of fat in the liver, but it can be managed and even reversed with the right approach. While complete “cure” can vary per individual factors such as overall health, dedication to lifestyle changes, and underlying causes; Ayurveda offers complementary ways to support liver health.

In Ayurvedic perspective, the liver called “Yakrit” plays a vital role in detoxification and metabolism, heavily influenced by Pitta dosha. When there’s junk food and sugar affecting your diet, it increases the Ama (toxins) and impairs Agni (digestive fire), aggravating issues like liver dysfunction.

Start by focusing on diet. Incorporate foods that will support liver function and pacify Pitta dosha. Opt for fresh fruits (like papaya and apples), steamed vegetables (like beets and carrots), whole grains (like quinoa or barley, avoiding wheat if you notice digestive discomfort), and legumes. Reduce intake of processed foods, fried items, and excess sugars. Drinking lots of warm water can assist in flushing toxins.

Herbs can play an important role too. Turmeric is often recommended due to its anti-inflammatory properties. Mix half a teaspoon of turmeric with warm milk or water daily. Include Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) and Katuka (Picrorhiza kurroa) known for aiding liver health. Milk Thistle, although not typically Ayurvedic, is popular for liver support.

Success is strongly tied to consistency and overall lifestyle shifts. Regular physical activity, even a simple daily walk, can greatly improve your outcomes. Practice stress-reducing techniques like yoga or meditation to balance mind and body, essential in Ayurveda.

In terms of effectiveness, many have found success through these interventions, leading to significant improvements if not complete normalization of liver tests. Always keep your regular doctor in the loop about any alternative therapies you’re considering, it ensures safe and effective progress.
