How to make digestion strong and avoid bloating - #24580

From 2 weeks i suddenly get gas problem indigestion at night my stomach start bloating and paining also i have to vomit the undigested food but pain was severe it's happened suddenly from 2,3 day in this week

Experiencing bloating, indigestion, and vomiting is often linked to an imbalance in the digestive fire, or “agni,” according to Ayurveda. It’s critical to address this promptly to prevent further discomfort. This imbalance might be due to intake of incompatible foods, irregular eating habits, stress, or dosha imbalance, particularly an aggravation of the vata dosha.

First and foremost, observe your eating patterns. Eating at regular times and making meals warm and freshly cooked aids digestion. Avoid eating heavy, oily, or processed food in the evening. Instead, opt for lighter meals such as soups or kichari. Chew your food thoroughly, as this activates digestive enzymes.

Consider incorporating herbs to strengthen agni: ginger tea before meals can stimulate digestive juices, helping break down food more effectively. Take a small piece of fresh ginger with a splash of lemon before meals. It can be beneficial in invigorating the digestive system.

Monitoring which foods seems to trigger symptoms is essential. Certain foods like cabbage, beans, or carbonated beverages could exacerbate your condition. Reduce intake of these items temporarily to see if symptoms improve.

Practicing deep-breathing exercises or engaging in a gentle walk post-dinner can help. Both practices aid in reducing gas and encourage smooth digestion.

A decoction made from ajwain (carom seeds) and cumin can also be effective. Boil a teaspoon of each in water, strain, and sip after meals to diminish bloating. This remedy supports the expulsion of gas and calms the stomach.

Staying hydrated is crucial; however, avoid excessive drinking during meals, as this dilutes digestive enzymes. Sip warm water throughout the day to maintain digestive fire.

If these symptoms persist or worsen, it’s important to consult an Ayurvedic practitioner and, if needed, seek urgent medical advice. Severe and prolonged symptoms can indicate an underlying condition needing professional intervention.
