when to take triphala tablets - #25157

Wyatt

I am feeling a bit lost on this whole triphala tablets thing. I started taking them a couple of weeks ago, you know, trying to find something that’d help with my digestion. I’ve read everywhere that triphala is super beneficial, but honestly, I’m confused about when to take triphala tablets. Like, should it be before meals or after?? Last night I thought maybe I’d take them before dinner, but I felt a bit bloated afterwards. And my friend said something about the timing matters, but I totally forgot to ask her. I sometimes have tea in the morning, so should I take them then instead?? I've got this irregular bathroom routine, and really want to get things moving in a more regular pattern. Does anyone have experiences that can shed light on when to take triphala tablets for the best effects? I’ve heard great stories, but just not sure if I’m goin’ about this right. Help?

Triphala, rooted in ancient Ayurvedic wisdom, is quite the remedy for digestive health. When taking triphala tablets, timing really can make a difference, especially if you’re looking to tackle digestion and irregular bowel movements. Ideally, the best time is before bed. About 30 minutes before hitting the sack, you could take the tablets with a warm glass of water. Doing this at night allows triphala to work gently on cleansing and balancing through the night, encouraging a natural, healthy rhythm by morning.

Now, in regards to feeling bloated, it might’ve just been your body adjusting. If you try it before bedtime, hopefully you’ll avoid that issue. If you’re having tea in the morning, adopting the evening routine shouldn’t conflict too much.

For those who have more significant digestive flames (agni), a small quantity, say 500 mg, can be taken in the morning on an empty stomach, followed by warm water. But remember, it shouldn’t replace your dietary staples or regular meals - maintain balance!

Being consistent is key - give your body a bit of time to adapt. If after a few weeks, you’re not noticing improvements or if any discomfort persists, it’s always a good idea to consult with a practitioner who can cater specifically to your constitution and health situation. Everyone’s prakriti (unique body type) can react differently.

Avoid making drastic diet changes at once - incorporate fibrous foods like fruits and vegetables, and hydrate well; it complements triphala’s benefits. Listen to your body, and adjust accordingly. Rooom for a few tweaks, and hopefully, you’ll see some changes!
