is patanjali drishti eye drop safe - #25643

Luke

I am really worried about something and could use some advice. I recently started using Patanjali Drishti eye drops because I heard from friends that they are good for relieving eye strain and helping with dryness. I’m on my computer a lot for work, and my eyes felt so tired all the time! Anyway, I used the drops for a few days, and honestly they seemed okay at first. But then, I started to notice this weird sensation, like my eyes were kind of burning after using them. I couldn’t help but wonder, is Patanjali Drishti eye drop safe? Like, are there any hidden side effects that I might not know about or something? Also, I thought herbal remedies were generally safe, right? But after talking to some family members, they seem unsure. I got a little freaked out and stopped using them, but I also don’t want to jump to conclusions. I guess I just want to hear from people who really know about this. Should I be worried, or is this a pretty common reaction?

It’s quite common to have concerns about any new remedy, especially if you’re experiencing discomfort. Patanjali Drishti eye drops are based on Ayurvedic principles and contain ingredients like onion juice, honey, and ginger juice. While these are natural components, they can sometimes cause a burning sensation, especially if your eyes are normally sensitive. This could be due to individual reactions or the strength of the active ingredients. Herbal remedies, while natural, are indeed not always universally safe for everyone, particularly if the formulation is potent.

Considering your symptoms, the burning sensation you experienced is not uncommon, but it indicates that the drops might be too strong for your eyes. It’s wise to be cautious and discontinue use, especially if discomfort persists. Emphasizing safety, it’s advisable to consult an eye specialist prior to continuing any treatment, as they might offer personalized recommendations tailored to your condition.

As for relieving eye strain especially when you are on your computer frequently, there are a few Ayurvedic practices and lifestyle changes that might help. Try following the 20-20-20 rule, which means every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds. It’s also essential to ensure your work environment is well-lit and your screen is at eye level to minimize strain.

In terms of diet, consuming foods high in antioxidants, such as green leafy vegetables, carrots, and oranges, can support eye health. Also maintaining good hydration can lessen eye dryness. Abhyanga – a daily self-massage with a suitable Ayurvedic oil – can also relax your eye muscles when gently applied around the eyes.

If natural options suit you better, consider using pure rose water as an occasional eye wash. It’s gentle and often helps soothe tired eyes. Remember, any severe or persistent symptoms warrant an evaluation by a healthcare professional to rule out underlying issues.
