Hello Smt Savita, In Ayurveda, your throat pain, hoarseness, and frequent ear infections suggest an imbalance in Pitta and Kapha doshas, often aggravated by excess Ama (toxins). For throat issues, remedies like Yashtimadhu (licorice tea) or 1/4 tsp yashtimadhu churns mixed in 1/4 tsp honey to be licked twice daily and Trikatu Churna (a blend of ginger, black pepper, and long pepper) with honey can soothe and clear congestion, while warm saltwater gargles and breathing exercises like Bhramari (humming bee breath) support vocal health. For ear infections, Nasya therapy using Anu Taila nasal drops can help reduce congestion, and garlic oil may be beneficial as ear drops, under guidance. To manage obesity, associated with excess Kapha, try Triphala before bed to cleanse digestion, Guggul for metabolism, and follow a light, warm diet with spices like cumin and turmeric to support Agni (digestive fire). Incorporate daily exercise, yoga poses like Surya Namaskar, and a routine with regular mealtimes to stabilize weight and digestion.

For recurring throat pain, hoarseness, frequent ear infections, and weight management, Ayurveda offers an integrated approach focusing on strengthening the immune system, reducing inflammation, and balancing metabolism. For throat issues, Ayurvedic remedies such as Yashtimadhu (licorice root) powder, taken with warm water and a pinch of Trikatu (a blend of ginger, black pepper, and long pepper) can soothe the throat, reduce hoarseness, and help prevent infections. Gargling with warm water mixed with Tankana Bhasma (purified borax) or Triphala decoction can relieve inflammation and maintain throat hygiene.

To manage weight and metabolic health, incorporating Triphala before bedtime and Guggulu (Commiphora mukul) formulations such as Medohar Guggulu can aid in fat metabolism and weight reduction. For consistent weight loss, daily intake of Vrikshamla (Garcinia indica) before meals can help curb appetite and reduce cravings. Avoid cold and processed foods, and favor warm, light meals with minimal oil and spice, focusing on steamed vegetables, whole grains like barley, and protein sources such as mung dal, which support blood sugar and cholesterol management.

To balance Kapha dosha, which contributes to weight gain, sluggish metabolism, and sinus or ear congestion, warm water intake throughout the day is beneficial. Nasya therapy (applying two drops of warm Anu Taila or sesame oil in the nostrils) daily can help clear excess Kapha from the sinuses and prevent ear infections. Practicing Pranayama and gentle yoga daily will boost circulation, improve lung capacity, and aid in weight management.

Throat pain, hoarseness, ear infections, and weight issues—sounds like they’re giving you a hard time! With Ayurveda, understanding your constitutional type, or prakriti, really helps. Obesity and recurring infections often point towards a Kapha imbalance, which can sometimes get stubborn with excess doshas causing trouble.

First, addressing the throat and ear problems. Gargle with warm salted water—simple but quite effective for alleviating throat soreness. You could also try an herbal mix like Yashtimadhu (licorice) and Turmeric, just a pinch each in warm water, morning and night. It helps soothe and reduce inflammation. Avoiding cold, refrigerated or excessively sour things is key too—they tend to aggravate throat issues.

For ear health, a few drops of warm sesame oil (lukewarm, ensure it’s not too hot!) in the ears can be soothing. Consider adding a pinch of camphor if infections are a frequent thing, but do consult with a local Ayurvedic practitioner to get this mix right.

About weight: boosting your digestion or Agni is crucial for conquering the weight seesaw. Sip on hot water throughout the day (just like tea but plain) to digest toxins, or ama, that accumulate. Also, fresh ginger tea before meals works wonder for metabolism. Incorporate light, freshly cooked meals with less oil and spices. Avoid dairy, sweets, and heavy grains like wheat or rice; opt for barley or millets instead.

Physical activity is super essential—try incorporating regular walks or yoga daily. Something as simple as a 15-min brisk walk after meals can rev up your digestive fire. Remember, it’s consistent small changes, rather than drastic ones, that yield results.

It might be soundy a little overwhelming, but taking slow, deliberate steps will really help balance things out. Keep observing what your body’s telling you—it has its way of showing what works.

Thanks so much for clarifying this! I had no idea mixing meds could be risky. I'll stick to my doctor's meds and look into Ayurveda separately.
