corona - #18000

Anonymously

I got corona about six months ago, and while I recovered, I feel like my body has never fully gone back to normal. During the infection, I had fever, body aches, and a terrible sore throat, but the worst part was the fatigue. Even now, I feel tired all the time, like my energy just doesn't come back properly. Some days I wake up feeling okay, but by afternoon, I feel drained and just want to lie down. Another thing is that ever since I had corona, my digestion feels off. I get bloated easily, and sometimes I feel nauseous for no reason. I didn’t have these issues before. Could this be some kind of long-term effect of corona on my gut? I’ve heard that immunity gets weak after a viral infection, and I feel like I’m catching colds more often now. I never used to get sick this frequently before corona, but now even a slight weather change gives me a sore throat. I’ve been looking into Ayurveda because I want to recover fully without relying on too many medicines. Are there any specific Ayurvedic herbs or treatments that can help rebuild strength after corona? I’ve heard of Ashwagandha and Chyawanprash for immunity, but are those enough? Also, should I be following a specific diet to cleanse my body after corona? I just want to feel like myself again. Right now, even a short walk makes me feel exhausted, which never used to happen before. Is there a way in Ayurveda to fix this post-corona weakness naturally? Also, are there breathing exercises or any therapies that help with lung recovery? Sometimes I feel like I still get out of breath faster than before. Would really appreciate some guidance on how to restore my energy levels and overall health in a natural way. I don’t want to depend on supplements forever if Ayurveda has a better solution.

Post-COVID weakness, fatigue, and digestion issues are common and indicate that your Ojas (vital energy) and Agni (digestive fire) have been weakened by the virus. Ayurveda focuses on restoring strength by rejuvenating tissues, improving digestion, and boosting immunity naturally. Herbs like Ashwagandha, Shatavari, and Chyawanprash are excellent for rebuilding strength and immunity. You can take 1 tsp of Chyawanprash daily in the morning and Ashwagandha powder (1/2 tsp with warm milk at night) to help restore stamina and energy. For gut health, Triphala or Avipattikar Churna before bed can help with bloating and digestion issues. Your symptoms suggest that your gut microbiome and immunity are still recovering from the viral infection. Ayurveda recommends following a light, nourishing diet to rebuild Agni. Focus on warm, freshly cooked meals, and avoid processed, heavy, or very cold foods that slow down digestion. Start your day with warm water and a pinch of turmeric to cleanse the system. Include ghee, moong dal, dates, almonds, and seasonal fruits for energy. Avoid excessive caffeine or sugar, as they can make fatigue worse. Drinking ginger tea or cumin-fennel tea after meals can help with digestion and bloating. For lung recovery, Pranayama (breathing exercises) like Anulom Vilom (Alternate Nostril Breathing) and Bhastrika (Bellows Breath) help improve oxygen intake and stamina. If you feel breathless easily, try Steam inhalation with eucalyptus oil or practice deep belly breathing for a few minutes daily. A gentle self-massage with warm sesame oil before bathing can also help improve circulation and reduce body aches. With consistent Ayurvedic herbs, diet, and lifestyle adjustments, you should start noticing more energy and better digestion within a few weeks. Let me know if you’d like a more specific plan based on your symptoms!

It sounds like you're experiencing some of the lingering effects of COVID-19, which is commonly referred to as "post-viral fatigue" or "long COVID." Ayurveda can offer a holistic approach to help restore balance and energy by focusing on revitalizing the immune system, improving digestion, and supporting overall vitality. Ashwagandha and Chyawanprash are excellent choices for rebuilding strength and immunity, as they help nourish the body and balance Vata and Pitta doshas, which might be affected by the viral infection. For digestion, herbs like Triphala, Ginger, and Amla can help improve gut health and reduce bloating. Ayurveda also emphasizes a nourishing diet to support recovery—foods that are easy to digest, warm, and full of nutrients, such as soups, stews, and cooked vegetables, can be helpful. It's also important to avoid heavy, oily, or processed foods that could strain your digestion. Breathing exercises like Pranayama (specifically Bhastrika and Ujjayi pranayama) can help with lung recovery and improve stamina. Additionally, regular gentle exercise, like yoga or walking, combined with adequate rest, will help you regain energy gradually. For long-term improvement, focusing on overall lifestyle balance—stress management, sleep quality, and hydration—is key. Ayurveda's natural, integrative approach can help you heal without relying solely on supplements or medications, and with consistent care, you should begin to notice improvements in your energy and overall well-being.
