Anonymously

For the past two months, I have been experiencing sensitivity and pain in my teeth, especially when I eat cold or hot foods. I ignored it at first, but recently, I started noticing bleeding gums while brushing. A few days ago, I also saw a small cavity in one of my molars. I finally decided to visit a dentist doctor, and he told me that I have early-stage tooth decay and mild gum inflammation. He recommended a filling for the cavity and advised me to improve my oral hygiene routine. While I understand that dental treatments are necessary, I am looking for a natural way to strengthen my teeth and gums so that I don’t keep developing new cavities or gum problems. I have read that Ayurveda focuses on oral health through herbal remedies, oil pulling, and diet changes. Are there specific Ayurvedic tooth powders or herbal pastes like Triphala, Clove Oil, or Dashan Sanskar Churna that can help strengthen teeth and prevent cavities? Also, would oil pulling with coconut or sesame oil help in reducing gum inflammation and tooth sensitivity? Doctor, I also want to understand why some people develop cavities easily even with good brushing habits. Is there an Ayurvedic explanation for weak teeth? Should I follow a specific diet to strengthen my teeth and gums naturally? I don’t want to keep going back to the dentist doctor every few months for new dental problems. Please suggest a detailed Ayurvedic oral care routine that includes herbs, diet, and natural remedies to keep my teeth strong and healthy forever.

Tooth sensitivity, cavities, and bleeding gums indicate an imbalance in Kapha and Pitta doshas, which affect oral health. Ayurveda recommends Dashan Sanskar Churna and Triphala powder for brushing, as they strengthen enamel, prevent plaque buildup, and fight bacteria naturally. Clove oil (Lavang Taila) and Babool (Acacia arabica) bark powder can be applied to the affected teeth to reduce pain and sensitivity. For gum inflammation, Gandusha (oil pulling) with sesame or coconut oil every morning detoxifies the mouth, strengthens gums, and reduces bacterial infections. Cavities and weak teeth can also be linked to poor digestion and calcium deficiency. Include calcium-rich foods like sesame seeds, almonds, figs, and dairy in your diet. Avoid excessive sugar, processed foods, and acidic drinks that erode enamel. Drinking Triphala-infused water can improve gut health, which in turn strengthens teeth. Rinsing with alum or neem decoction after meals helps prevent bacterial growth. A daily oral care routine with herbal brushing, oil pulling, and gum massages using Ayurvedic medicated oils like Irimedadi Taila can prevent recurring dental problems. Additionally, tongue scraping with a copper or silver scraper helps remove toxins from the mouth. By following Ayurvedic oral hygiene, dietary changes, and herbal remedies, you can prevent cavities and maintain strong, healthy teeth naturally.
