Doctors' responses

It is advisable to consult the best surgeon regarding the gallbladder stones. Once that is addressed, we can proceed with the treatment for PCOS and the duodenal ulcer.

Thank you for your response sir . Is there any ayurvedic solution for gallstones? For tinny calculi. There is no size mentioned in us report

“The size of the stone can sometimes appear different on ultrasound depending on how it’s positioned and which part is captured. Since you mentioned there are multiple stones, there’s a chance that some might move toward the common bile duct or pancreatic duct, which could lead to complications like cholangitis or pancreatitis. If it were just a single or smaller stone, we might have considered managing it conservatively. However, in your situation, surgery would be a safer and more effective option to prevent future issues.”

Managing gallstones effectively, especially with the presence of multiple small calculi and sludge, requires a methodical approach in Ayurveda. Given your conditions—duodenal ulcer, PCOS, indigestions, and acidity—it’s important to tailor a plan that respects the delicate balance within your system.

First, addressing gallstones requires emphasis on improving your agni or digestive fire. Begin each morning with warm water mixed with lemon juice and a pinch of turmeric. This simple remedy acts as a gentle detox and finds balance in Pitta dosha, responsible for digestion. Moreover, turmeric helps in reducing inflammation—it’s essential for your duodenal ulcer.

Diet plays a pivotal role. Favor light, warm, and easily digestible foods to prevent further stone formation and ease indigestion. Opt for rice, kitchari, steamed vegetables, and cumin-spiced soups. Avoid fatty, fried, and processed foods, as they may exacerbate gallstones and ulcers. Eating small, frequent meals instead of three large ones can help manage your symptoms effectively.

Herbs such as Punarnava and Guggulu are significant in Ayurveda for supporting gallbladder health and regulating cholesterol. Consider these under the guidance of a knowledgeable practitioner. For acidity, licorice is often recommended for its mucilaginous properties, soothing the stomach lining and reducing excess acid.

For PCOS—a condition linked with Vata and Kapha imbalances—opt for regular, moderate exercise. Walking, yoga, or light cardio can balance hormones. Remember, stress exacerbates all your conditions, so engage in stress reduction techniques daily, like meditation or deep-breathing exercises.

Drink warm ginger tea before meals to bolster digestion, but avoid spices that trigger acidity like chilies. Before making any changes, considering consulting with an Ayurvedic specialist to get a comprehensive evaluation that respects the nuances of your condition. Remember that persistent symptoms, especially with gallstones, could require more aggressive interventions, so maintain communication with your healthcare provider.
