Hello Manali, this looks like hormonal imbalance especially FSH & estrogen insufficiency. Can you get your hormones tested like FSH, LH, Sr Estradiol & Sr Progesterone and also hemoglobin to rule out anemia. Also get a Pelvic USG scan done to check your endometrial growth. If there is no proper endometrial lining you won’t get periods soon!

Given your situation with PCOD and the absence of periods for a year, it’s essential to gather more information for a comprehensive approach. Have you undergone any specific tests related to PCOD, such as hormone level assessments (like LH, FSH, estrogen, and testosterone)? Additionally, understanding whether you've experienced any symptoms like mood swings, fatigue, or changes in appetite would be helpful. Have you had any previous menstrual irregularities before this year of amenorrhea? In terms of managing your condition, consider incorporating some Ayurvedic remedies. Ashwagandha is beneficial for balancing hormones; you can take it in powder form (1 teaspoon) mixed with warm milk or water, preferably before bedtime. Shatavari is another excellent herb that supports female reproductive health; taking 1-2 teaspoons of the powder daily can be beneficial. Triphala may help regulate your menstrual cycle; taking 1-2 teaspoons at night with warm water can aid digestion and hormonal balance. Additionally, maintaining a balanced diet rich in whole grains, fruits, and vegetables while avoiding processed foods can help manage PCOD symptoms. Regular physical activity, such as yoga or brisk walking, can also promote hormonal balance. Consulting with an Ayurvedic practitioner for personalized guidance and further assessments will be crucial for your health journey.

Having PCOD (or PCOS) and not getting your periods for over a year sounds like a frustrating situation. Here's a lil' insight on ayurvedic way to address this. Your symptoms show a Vata and Kapha imbalance, but mainly Vata—the energy that manages movement and flow in the body. Enough of technicality let's focus on practical stuff, yeah? First, let's talk food. Start with a diet warm and nourishing. Think soupy things like moong dal khichadi, or light warm soups. Have cooked, easily digestible stuff. Avoid all dry, crunchy and cold foods—like salads, chips, or cold sandwiches. They aggravate Vata. Don't skip your meals ever. Make sure to eat at regular intervals. Spices can be your allies here. Cumin, coriander, fennel—these little seeds can do wonders. Sprinkle them in your meals, or make a digestion-boosting drink by boiling them in water and sipping throughout the day to support Agni (digestive fire). And, water should be warm or room temp, no icy cold gulps! Incorporate some ghee into your diet. I know it sounds a bit unconventional, but ghee nourishes your dhatus (body tissues) and helps balance Vata. Try adding a spoon to your rice or on roti but don’t go overboard—moderation is key. Lifestyle, oh yes—don't sit like a potato the whole day. Gentle yoga could help regulate your hormones. Try poses like Baddha Konasana (Butterfly Pose) or Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose). About 20-30 minutes each day is a good way to start. But skip strenuous exercises, as they can upset Vata. Stress is another sneak that throws Vata off balance, impacting the menstrual cycle. Consider breathing exercises like Pranayama or just cozy up with a hobby that mellows you out. Overthinking's a Vata thing too, so chill a bit, okay? Last quick note: if your menstruation doesn't return soon, or if you have other symptoms cropping up, please reach out to a healthcare provider. While Ayurvedic strategies can assist, sometimes deeper medical insights are necessary.
