Reduced menstrual flow and weight gain can be concerning, especially alongside other symptoms like a puffy face and abdominal distension. In Ayurveda, these fluctuations can hint towards an imbalance possibly in the Kapha dosha, or ama (toxins) accumulation in the body. The body might be dealing with post-vaccination changes affecting its natural equilibrium. First, it is important to rule out any immediate medical concerns with a healthcare provider, such as thyroid dysfunction or any other serious conditions that might relate to your symptoms. In Ayurvedic terms, addressing the root imbalance starts with cleansing the body and promoting a healthy metabolism, or Agni. Start by incorporating regular exercise into your routine. Even moderate activity like brisk walking or yoga can invigorate your metabolic fire and help prevent further weight gain. In terms of diet, aim for light, warm meals that support digestion. Since Kapha can be very aggravted by cold and heavy foods, try to include more spices that boost digestion like ginger, black pepper, turmeric and cumin. Eating at regular intervals without snacking in between helps in maintaining a healthy digestion cycle too. Hydrate with warm water throughout the day to assist in flushing out those accumulated toxins. Also, consider taking trikatu churna or a ginger tea before meals to enhance digestion but consult a practitioner for precise dosages that suit your bodily constitution. Your symptoms also point to a need for stress management. Consider adding stress-reducing activities into your lifestyle like meditation, pranayama (breath control), or spending time in nature. These help in restoring hormonal balance, potentially alleviating symptoms related to menstrual changes. As for the puffiness, dry brushing or Abhyanga (oil massage) with mustard oil can stimulate lymphatic drainage and reduce fluid retention, promoting better circulation. Implement these consistently for noticeable change over time. Finally, have a conversation with an Ayurvedic practitioner alongside your healthcare provider to craft a well-rounded plan that’s specifically tailored to you. This integrative approach ensures safety and efficacy in managing your symptoms effectively. Remember to avoid self-diagnosing and follow through with professional assessments for a comprehensive health outlook.
