Doctors’ responses
Dear shri chirayu kamdar ji
Thank you for sharing your health concerns in detail. It is heartening to know that you have already taken a very positive and courageous step by quitting alcohol for last six months. That alone is a significant milestone in your journey towards healing.
From your description, I understand that you are currently undergoing
Treatment for liver cirrhosis and experiencing issues such as abdominal swelling, high urine levels and receiving weekly injections as a part of your Allo pathic regimen. You also mentioned SITC which suggest chronic intestinal sluggishness or bubble transit dysfunction. Another complication after associated with liver and digestive disorders.
According to Ayurveda, liver cirrhosis is closely associated with the condition called YAKRIT Vikara-a progressive degeneration of liver tissue commonly influenced by PITTAJA and RAKTAJA DUSHTI.
Excessive intake of alcohol aggravates PITTA DOSHA and over time, impaired Agni, leading to accumulation of a ama that is toxins depletion of Rasa and rakta dhatus and finally YAKRIT KSHAYA( hepatic depletion , and fibrosis)
The abdominal swelling you mentioned, maybe due to JALODARA condition in modern terms known as ASCITES where fluid accumulates in the Parial cavity due to impaired udakavaha stores and loss of aesthetic function.
When the liver fails to purify the blood quietly and generate enough albumin, The water element accumulate in the wrong spaces of the body, causing swelling
Ayurveda believes that with the right combination of diet, lifestyle, medicine and mental healing, considerable improvement can be achieved, even in chronic condition like cirrhosis
Complete an anatomical reversal may not always be possible, but functional regeneration, symptom control, improve quality of life and reduce dependency on investor treatment is very much possible
Since you have already stopped alcohol, the route aggravated has been removed. This is your greatest strength going forward.

Hello Chirayu,
lets understand your conidtion-
cirrhosis is permanent scarring of liver, usually from long-term damage like alcohol, hepatitis etc
Once cirrhosis is established , complete reversal is rare, but you can slow or stop its progress and support your liver to function better
stopping alcohol was the most important step you've already done which is one of the best decision
high bilirubin- causes jaundice and show liver isn't working properly
An infection per week is likely supportive therapy
swelling in stomach- ascites
fluid buildup in abdomen from poor liver blood flow and low proteins levels
need medicines like diuretics, salt restriction, fluid restrictions, and fluid drainage in some case
Ayurvedic management- supportive line- reduce complication, protect remaining liver cells, improve quality of life, improve digestion, reduce swelling

It's important to address conditions like SITC (Small Intestinal Tumor Cancer) and liver cirrhosis with utmost care, and I'm glad to hear you've refrained from alcohol, as that is a crucial step in managing your liver health.
In Ayurveda, cirrhosis is often associated with imbalances in the Pitta dosha, which governs metabolic processes and transformations in the body. Damage caused by cirrhosis may not completely reverse, but you can manage symptoms and support liver function to prevent further damage.
One practical aspect is diet. Consuming a balanced diet that calms Pitta is essential. Avoid spicy, oily, and salty foods, instead focusing on whole grains like rice and barley, along with vegetables like bitter gourd and leafy greens. Fruit such as pomegranates are recommended due to their gentle cooling effect on the liver.
Another point to consider is herbs, which Ayurveda holds in high regard. Certain herbs, such as Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) and Kalmegh (Andrographis paniculata), are known to support liver health and detoxification processes. They can be consumed as a decoction or in powdered form but do discuss these with a healthcare provider to ensure they don't conflict with current treatments.
In addition, consider lifestyle changes that support liver health. Regular self-massage with oils like sesame or coconut, followed by a warm bath, might help reduce stress and improve circulation, indirectly supporting liver functions. Prioritize good sleep and a light exercise routine, which can positively affect overall health.
Keeping close communication with your healthcare provider during this process is key, especially considering ongoing treatments. It's vital to monitor your condition and address any sudden changes promptly. Avoid self-medicating, and always incorporate any new approach into your existing medical regimen with the approval of your doctor.
