It's important to address conditions like SITC (Small Intestinal Tumor Cancer) and liver cirrhosis with utmost care, and I'm glad to hear you've refrained from alcohol, as that is a crucial step in managing your liver health. In Ayurveda, cirrhosis is often associated with imbalances in the Pitta dosha, which governs metabolic processes and transformations in the body. Damage caused by cirrhosis may not completely reverse, but you can manage symptoms and support liver function to prevent further damage. One practical aspect is diet. Consuming a balanced diet that calms Pitta is essential. Avoid spicy, oily, and salty foods, instead focusing on whole grains like rice and barley, along with vegetables like bitter gourd and leafy greens. Fruit such as pomegranates are recommended due to their gentle cooling effect on the liver. Another point to consider is herbs, which Ayurveda holds in high regard. Certain herbs, such as Guduchi (Tinospora cordifolia) and Kalmegh (Andrographis paniculata), are known to support liver health and detoxification processes. They can be consumed as a decoction or in powdered form but do discuss these with a healthcare provider to ensure they don't conflict with current treatments. In addition, consider lifestyle changes that support liver health. Regular self-massage with oils like sesame or coconut, followed by a warm bath, might help reduce stress and improve circulation, indirectly supporting liver functions. Prioritize good sleep and a light exercise routine, which can positively affect overall health. Keeping close communication with your healthcare provider during this process is key, especially considering ongoing treatments. It's vital to monitor your condition and address any sudden changes promptly. Avoid self-medicating, and always incorporate any new approach into your existing medical regimen with the approval of your doctor.
