can i give bonnisan to my baby daily - #24463
I am really worried since my baby has been quite fussy lately, started teething and I’ve heard good things about this supplement called BonniSan. I read somewhere that BonniSan helps with digestion and supports overall health, which seems like exactly what my little one needs right now! But, can I give BonniSan to my baby daily?? Honestly, I’m just not sure how often it’s safe. Like, I read mixed things online about the dosage and how long it can be given, some say it’s safe every day, and others act like I shouldn’t give it more than a few times a week. Also, my sister said she used it daily for her baby, and he’s doing fine but it's got me thinking is that okay for all babies? I want to make the right choice for my baby, but it’s confusing with all the different opinions floating around. I also noticed my baby sometimes gets a little gassy after eating, and I wonder if BonniSan could help that too. Is that normal? Thanks for any insight!!!

BonniSan is a herbal supplement that’s often used to support digestion in babies and can be beneficial, especially if your baby is having digestive issues like gas or discomfort during teething. You’re right in thinking that there are varying opinions on its regular use, largely due to differences in individual baby’s constitutions and specific needs.
In Ayurveda, each child is unique, and factors such as dosha balance, and agni (digestive fire) play an essential role in determining the appropriateness of any supplement. For most infants, a light, natural supplement like BonniSan can be used safely, but it’s best to proceed with caution.
In general, if you decide to use BonniSan, it can be given once or twice a day, ideally before feeding, in recommended dosages mentioned on the bottle. However, it’s important not to exceed the manufacturer’s recommendations without consulting a pediatrician who is aware of Ayurveda. Start with the smaller dose to observe how your child reacts to it. Watch for any signs of discomfort, allergic reaction, or further digestive issues.
Ensure good hydration and that your baby’s diet is supportive of their digestive health, like avoiding excessive sweet, salty or very heavy foods. Each supplement can vary in its effect based on baby’s intake of water, diet and general lifestyle. If you notice benefits while using BonniSan but remain worried about herbal supplement dependency or long-term effects, consider consulting with an herbalist or practitioner who understands both Ayurvedic and modern pediatric guidelines. This can help tailor the treatment directly to your baby’s constitution and specific conditions.
Remember, supplements should complement other lifestyle and dietary practices that keep the baby healthy and comfortable, and in cases where symptoms persist, seeking the guidance of health professionals is advised for a safe and holistic approach.
