Erectile dysfunction (ED) combined with premature ejaculation can be quite distressing, especially when trying to ensure mutual satisfaction in a marriage. Given your history with open-heart surgery and pulmonary artery stenosis, it's crucial to approach this carefully and coordinate with any existing medical treatments you're undergoing. In Ayurveda, sexual health is closely linked to overall well-being and balance of doshas. For premature ejaculation, it's often connected to imbalances in Vata dosha, while ED may point to weakened Agni or issues with dhatus, particularly the Shukra dhatu. First, focusing on diet can be helpful. Consuming warm and nourishing foods can strengthen Agni and balance Vata. Opt for whole grains, dairy products like ghee and milk, nuts, and seeds. Avoid overly spicy, dry or processed foods, as they can aggravate Vata. Herbs such as Ashwagandha and Shatavari are traditionally used for their rejuvenating properties; they support energy levels and sexual health. Take Ashwagandha powder one teaspoon in warm milk, twice daily. Shatavari can be taken similarly. Stress management is also important; practices like yoga and meditation help calming the mind, ensuring that Vata imbalance doesn't worsen. Pranayama, especially slow deep breathing exercises, performed daily for 10-15 minutes can enhance relaxation. Lastly, consult with your cardiologist or physician to ensure any treatments or practices you engage in will not interfere with your heart health. Your condition may requires a careful balance between traditional Ayurvedic practices and modern medical interventions. Keep an open discussion with your healthcare providers to tailor an approach that’s safely suitable to you.
