Itching in fissures can be particularly frustrating, and it’s good to know you’re looking for solutions that align with Ayurvedic principles. Itching may occur during the healing phase due to increased circulation and tissue regeneration, a natural process. When there's pain and swelling, other inflammatory responses might be masking the itching sensation temporarily. Here's how Ayurveda might help you address the itching. Firstly, let’s look at your dosha. Fissures and associated symptoms often indicate an imbalance in the Vata dosha, which governs movement and can result in dryness and irritation. Ensuring a balance here is crucial for both healing and comfort. Consider Yashtimadhu (Licorice) and Triphala as they have soothing properties. Yashtimadhu can be consumed as a tea or in powdered form – mix half a teaspoon with a cup of warm milk, consume twice a day after meals for its anti-inflammatory and healing properties. It soothes tissues and can calm itching. Triphala can aid in maintaining digestive health which in turn supports fissure healing without hard stools. Take half a teaspoon of Triphala powder with warm water before bed, ensuring regular bowel movements. Externally, coconut oil infused with turmeric could bring relief. Turmeric is anti-inflammatory and antiseptic. Gently apply this mixture to the affected area 2-3 times a day. Ensure the skin is dry before application. Try to incorporate Sitz bath with neem leaves, twice a day. Boil 10-15 neem leaves in water, let it cool to a warm temperature, and bathe the affected area for 10-15 minutes. It helps reduce itching by soothing the skin and has antibacterial properties. Remember to maintain proper hygiene in the anal area. Keep it dry and avoid scratching which can aggravate symptoms. Wear loose clothing for air circulation and comfort. If symptoms persist or worsen, seeking professional medical advice is crucial. Itching could indicate a chronic condition needing immediate attention. Achieving relief and healing through Ayurveda requires consistent effort, so please be patient with the process.
