Addressing your father’s condition involves a careful integration of Ayurvedic principles to tackle the issue effectively and safely given his age and symptoms. In Ayurveda, focus would be on enhancing the digestive fire (agni) and balancing vata dosha, which is often linked to gas and acidity problems.

Firstly, dietary changes are crucial. Incorporating foods that naturally support liver and gall bladder health can be beneficial. Warm, cooked meals should be prioritized, avoiding cold, raw, and greasy foods. Including spices like turmeric and ginger can aid digestion and potentially support the breakdown of calculi. Turmeric, known for its anti-inflammatory properties, ought to be consumed daily, perhaps in a warm cup of water or mixed in food.

Herbal remedies play a significant role. A blend known as “Punarnava,” along with herbs like “Gokshura” and “Kalka” can be considered. These herbs are traditionally used for their lithotriptic properties — meaning they may help dissolve small stones. It’s essential to consult with a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner to adjust these herbs according to your father’s specific constitution and health status.

Hydration is crucial. Encourage drinking plenty of warm water, possibly infused with lemon to stimulate bile production. It’s advised to avoid fizzy or cold beverages as they may aggravate vata and pitta doshas.

Regular physical movement, appropriate for his age and health status, could also assist in natural clearance of the stones. Simple walks or pranayama could be beneficial, encouraging mild exercise routine.

Lastly, monitoring his condition closely is vital, given the potential complications stones can pose. If symptoms escalate or don’t improve, reevaluating the treatment plan, possibly in conjunction with a conventional medical approach, might be necessary. While Ayurveda provides a holistic approach, patient safety always comes first, ensuring his health remains the top priority.

While Ayurveda and the Siddha traditions offer gentle approaches to managing digestive imbalances and potential stone formations, it’s crucial to stay cautious with CBD stones, especially given your father’s age. If the calculi are causing any blockages or could potentially pose serious health issues, one should prioritize seeking medical attention to prevent any complications, even with the current lack of pain.

In terms of Ayurvedic management, the focus would be on balancing the doshas and enhancing digestion to prevent further formation and might assist in managing smaller stones:

1. Dietary Adjustments: Encourage a diet that reduces pitta and kapha dosha aggravations. This means limiting oily, spicy, and heavy foods that could promote stone formation. Instead, incorporate more fiber-rich foods such as whole grains, fruits, and vegetables that are easier on the digestive system.

2. Hydration: Encourage him to drink warm water throughout the day. This not only aids in flushing out toxins but also maintains optimal digestion. Barley water, which is a good diuretic, can be consumed as well, helping in giving a consistent gentle push to maintain digestion and metabolism.

3. Herbal Support: Certain herbs like Gokshura (Tribulus terrestris) and Punarnava (Boerhavia diffusa) might aid in improving kidney and liver function. These could potentially help manage minor stone formations. However, these should be taken under the guidance of an Ayurvedic practitioner familiar with his specific condition.

4. Digestive Aids: Enhancing agni, or digestive fire, is crucial. Mild spices such as cumin, coriander, and fennel can be included in meals to aid digestion without aggravating acidity.

5. Triphala: This is a well-known formula in Ayurveda that aids in balancing all three doshas and supporting digestion. Taking Triphala churna, typically in the evening with warm water, might improve digestive regularity.

6. Regular check-ups: Monitoring his condition through regular check-ups and diagnostic assessments is important to ensure there is no progression or complications from the stones.

If any symptoms like pain, jaundice, or an acute digestive problem arise, it’s important to consult a healthcare professional immediately. With his age being a factor, maintaining a gentle and balanced approach is key while staying alert to any changes in his condition.
