Chronic erosive gastritis could be quite troubling, and Ayurveda provides comprehensive strategies for healing by addressing the root cause. First, it’s essential to restore your Agni or digestive fire. During gastritis, follow a diet that calms Pitta dosha and is easy on the stomach. Include cooling, soothing foods like boiled rice, steamed vegetables, and moong dal khichdi, as these are gentle on digestion. Drink coconut water and pomegranate juice to alleviate inflammation. Avoid aggravating foods like spicy, fried, and overly salty items; they stimulate Pitta further.
Incorporating herbal remedies can significantly support healing. Take Amla (Indian Gooseberry) juice daily; it’s high in Vitamin C and known for reducing inflammation. Aloe vera juice is also beneficial for soothing the stomach lining, try consuming it on empty stomach in the morning. Manjistha and Licorice are potent herbs known for their anti-inflammatory properties. A licorice tea before meals might soothe your symptoms.
It’s important to manage stress, as it impacts digestion. Practices like Pranayama and meditation calm the mind and should be included for balance. Breathing exercises such as Anulom Vilom might help to improve circulation and reduce anxiety.
Rebuilding gut flora is crucial after antibiotic use. Probiotic-rich foods like homemade curd, helped with digestion and restore balance. Yet, take care to eat them during day, not at night.
Remember to chew your food thoroughly to aid digestion, eat at regular intervals and avoid any late-night meals, as that can worsen gastritis symptoms. Avoid tobacco, alcohol, and caffeine as they irritate the stomach lining. If the symptoms persist or worsen, consult a healthcare provider promptly. Adjust any Ayurvedic practices considering personal medical history and current condition for the safest approach.
For managing chronic erosive gastritis, it’s crucial to address the root cause and bring balance to the affected doshas. Your symptoms suggest an imbalance of Pitta, often aggravated by diet and stress. Let’s look at some practical steps:
Firstly, dietary adjustments are essential. Try to consume meals that are cooling and soothing. Avoid spicy, acidic, and fried foods as they can increase Pitta. Incorporate more cooked vegetables, particularly those like zucchini, pumpkin, and leafy greens, which are gentle on the stomach. White rice and barley can be beneficial too. Consuming aloe vera juice may also aid in comforting the stomach lining due to its mucilage content, which can help soothe irritations.
Herbs such as licorice (Mulethi) can be beneficial. It has anti-inflammatory properties and can help restore balance to the digestive tract. Consuming it in a decoction form before meals might aid in soothing the erosions. Additionally, Amla (Indian gooseberry) is excellent due to its cooling effect and its vitamin C content. It can be taken as a juice or powder form daily.
To help restore gut flora, consider incorporating a natural probiotic like homemade yogurt or buttermilk with a pinch of salt and cumin, consumed at lunch. This will gradually help rebalance your gut microbiota.
For exercise, gentle activity is beneficial. Simple pranayama, such as Anulom Vilom (alternate nostril breathing), can reduce stress and aid in balancing bodily functions. A light walk after meals may help with digestion and reduce bloating.
If symptoms persist or worsen, please consult a healthcare provider, as erosive gastritis requires careful monitoring, possibly considering an integrative approach with conventional medicine.
