Doctors' responses

For itching in the groin area, Ayurveda often points to an imbalance of Pitta dosha or even Kapha in some cases. This situation can be exacerbated by sweat accumulation and tight-fitting clothes. Start by keeping the area clean and dry, especially at night. Use a cotton cloth to pat it dry after washing. You can apply coconut oil which has soothing and antimicrobial properties. Neem oil, known for its antifungal properties, is also beneficial when mixed with coconut oil. Try applying this mixture before bed. Keep your clothes loose, made of natural fibers like cotton to allow the skin to breathe and reduce sweat production.

For the abdominal pain on the right side, it could be related to liver or gallbladder issues in Ayurveda, often involving Pitta dosha. Watching your diet is crucial here. Avoid spicy, oily or overly rich foods. Give priority to a light diet with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, that are naturally cooling and detoxifying. Bitter foods like karela (bitter gourd) or neem, may help balance Pitta. Drinking a glass of warm water with a teaspoon of cumin seed powder first thing in the morning can improve digestion and relieve discomfort.

Incorporating specific lifestyle changes is essential. Manage stress through yoga or meditation, as stress can affect both itching and digestive discomfort. Limit exposure to heat and sun as these can aggravate Pitta. Regular physical activity that suits your body type—like brisk walking or gentle yoga postures—can aid in flushing toxins and improving circulation.

If symptoms persist or worsen, it’s essential to consult a healthcare professional immediately to rule out any serious conditions. Ayurveda can complement but never replace a medical diagnosis or treatment. In such scenarios, exhaustive investigations might be necessary to identify underlying health issues accurately. Always, prioritize your health and safety first!
