In your situation, balancing Vata-Kapha while building Ojas needs a holistic approach that caters to your lifestyle and work conditions. Ojas, being the essence of all dhatus, is vital for maintaining energy and emotional equilibrium. Your engagement with Surya Namaskar and Brahmi is a great start.
First, let’s focus on your diet. Since Vata tends to be irregular and Kapha calming, aim for warm, grounding foods. Include cooked vegetables, whole grains, and warming spices like ginger and cumin in your meals. Try having a glass of warm milk with a pinch of turmeric and a few strands of saffron, especially at night, to pacify Vata and build Ojas. Avoid cold, heavy, and excessively oily or fried foods that can aggravate Kapha and impede Ojas development.
Given your odd work hours, maintaining a consistent daily routine can be challenging. Try to establish regular meal times and sleep schedule as much as possible. Adequate rest is vital for Ojas. Incorporate relaxation techniques like meditation or Yoga Nidra before sleep to help ease your mind.
For managing anger, consider incorporating Ashwagandha into your routine, as it supports stress reduction and stabilizes mood. A tea made from licorice root and warm water twice a day may also help in reducing irritability associated with Vata imbalance.
In your working environment, the isolation from hybrid working can amplify Vata issues. Ensure you take regular breaks to move around and stay grounded—spending time in nature, if possible, can be stabilizing. It also helps to keep a few houseplants around your workspace for their calming presence.
Additionally, massage with sesame oil can be beneficial. Regular Abhyanga (self-massage) after your Pranayama with warm oil can soothe Vata and nourish your dhatus. Focus especially on your feet and head to clear energetic blockages.
Finally, while Brahmi is suitable for mental stress, ensure you’re not relying solely on it. Assess if there’s any change needed in dosages or usage patterns by consulting with a health professional. Continue to nurture personal connections outside of work, as social interaction nourishes the soul, fostering stronger Ojas and stability in emotions.
I read Ashwagandha increases pitta while balancing vata and kapha.
I forgot to mention I take shankhpushpi powder with warm water since I assume anger issues are a sign of pitta imbalance.
