Addressing your symptoms through Ayurveda involves understanding what could be increasing imbalance in your doshas. Bloated abdomen, indigestion, and weight gain often suggest an imbalance in the Vata and Kapha doshas, along with weak digestive fire (Agni). The persistence of H.pylori could also point towards disturbed Pitta dosha, impacting your digestive health.
Strengthening Agni is essential. Consider starting your day with warm water mixed with lemon juice and honey, it can aid in stimulating digestive processes. Add fresh ginger to your meals or chew a small piece before eating, as ginger naturally enhances metabolism and aids digestion.
A diet with easily digestible foods is recommended. Opt for warm, cooked meals rather than raw or cold foods, which can be difficult to digest. Avoid processed, oily, and heavy foods. Instead, focus on moong dal khichdi, a healthy blend of rice and legumes, cooked with turmeric and cumin. Incorporate green leafy vegetables, but ensure they are well-cooked.
Herbs like Triphala can help in balancing your digestion, acting as a mild laxative and digestive aid. Half a teaspoon of Triphala powder with warm water, before bed, may help regulate bowel movements.
Mindful eating is key. Eat slowly, without distractions, and only when hungry. Avoid eating late at night. Engage in practices like yoga and pranayama to assist in maintaining equilibrium in your doshas. Kapalbhati, a breathing exercise, can be particularly beneficial for strengthening digestion and metabolism.
For the headaches and elevated inflammation markers, Brahmi and Ashwagandha might be helpful, but should be taken after consulting with an Ayurvedic doctor familiar with your personal health history.
Since quinolones are your only antibiotic option, discuss with your physician the best treatment plan for your Helicobacter infection. Ayurveda can be a supportive therapy alongside conventional treatment, but it’s crucial to address acute bacterial infections properly for your safety and wellbeing.
