what is suvarna prashan - #43730

Elijah

I am really confused about my child’s health lately. He’s been having a tough time with his immunity, getting colds and fevers way too often. A friend mentioned something about suvarna prashan and how it might help boost his immunity. But honestly, I’m not really sure what is suvarna prashan or how it actually works. I read a bit online, and they say it’s some kind of Ayurvedic practice involving gold and herbs, but that’s all I could gather. My little one is only 4, and I just want what is suvarna prashan to help strengthen him. He’s always tired and seems like he just can’t shake off these constant sniffles. We’ve already tried a few other remedies, like honey and ginger, but nothing has really done the trick. Is what is suvarna prashan safe for kids? How often should it be given? And, is there any specific age that it works best? I heard it kinda helps with both physical and mental development, which sounds amazing if that’s true! If anyone has experience or info with what is suvarna prashan, I’d really love some guidance here. Feeling a bit lost and hoping to hear some good advice!

Suvarna prashan is an ancient Ayurvedic practice used to boost immunity and promote overall wellness in children. It involves administering a combination of swarna bhasma (purified gold ash), honey, and various herbal extracts to children, typically in liquid form. The practice is well-documented in classical Ayurvedic texts and is believed to enhance physical and mental development. Ayurvedic physicians recommend giving suvarna prashan to children up to the age of 16, with greatest benefits often seen in the early developmental stages of life, such as your son’s age of four.

Regarding safety, suvarna prashan is generally considered safe for kids, provided it’s prepared and administered correctly under the guidance of a qualified Ayurvedic practitioner. Standard dosage is usually given on the day of Pushya Nakshatra, an auspicious lunar constellation that occurs once a month. However, some practitioners may recommend daily doses for an initial period, gradually shifting to monthly doses once the child’s body has adapted.

To aid in your child’s immunity and resilience against frequent colds and fevers, it’s important not only to consider suvarna prashan but also to look at the overall lifestyle and dietary measures. Encourage a wholesome, balanced diet with lots of fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and adequate protein. Foods rich in vitamin C, such as oranges, and Amla (Indian gooseberry) can be particularly beneficial. Also, ensure your child gets enough restful sleep, regular physical activity, and time outdoors for fresh air, which are fundamental aspects of immunity-building.

Before starting suvarna prashan, it would be prudent to consult with a licensed Ayurvedic physician who can personalize the dosage and combination of herbs based on your child’s unique constitution (prakriti) and current health condition. Remember that while it’s a supportive remedy, it shouldn’t be used in lieu of necessary medical treatments for active infections or underlying health problems.
