Doctors' responses

Amla and turmeric are both considered beneficial in Ayurveda, but consuming any remedy incorrectly or excessively can have undesired effects. Amla is rich in vitamin C and is generally good for hair health, while turmeric is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. However, they may not directly correlate to the tiredness or weakness in eyes you’re experiencing.

Your symptoms might suggest a few things. Firstly, it’s important to check if your digestive fire (agni) is balanced because excessive intake of amla, which is sour and has cooling property, might disturb the balance of agni, leading to fatigue and sluggishness. Be sure to consume the juice in the proper amount and at the right time. Typically, taking amla juice in the morning on an empty stomach is recommended, but if that’s causing imbalance, try taking it after meals instead.

Additionally, the combination of amla and turmeric could lead to an imbalance of your Vata dosha, especially if you naturally have a Vata-predominant constitution or current Vata imbalance. This can make you prone to dryness, including in the eyes, and could exacerbate fatigue. Consider reducing the amount you’re consuming or how frequently you’re taking it, and monitor for changes in your symptoms.

For eye health, incorporate triphala churna taken at night with warm water, as it’s traditionally used to support eye function and overall health. Stay hydrated, ensure you’re getting adequate rest, and maintain a balanced diet rich in greens and omega-3 fatty acids. Furthermore, rest your eyes frequently, particularly if you’re exposed to screens for long periods.

If symptoms persist, you might want to consult with a healthcare practitioner to rule out any other underlying issues or deficiencies. It’s crucial to ensure that your approach is discipline by your unique prakriti and current state of balance, rather than a generic solution. It’s always ideal to align your regimen with professional advice for enduring benefits.
