Addressing your wife’s condition with Ayurveda may offer complementary support, though it’s crucial to continue with any necessary medical treatments as advised by her healthcare provider. For hyperthyroidism, Ayurvedic principles typically focus on balancing the aggravated Pitta dosha, which often corresponds with thyroid imbalances. Consider incorporating herbs such as Ashwagandha and Brahmi which may support thyroid function. Ashwagandha, at a dosage of about 1-2 grams per day as a fine powder mixed with water or milk can be beneficial. Brahmi, consumed as a capsule or powder, should follow package instructions.

Bael, or Aegle marmelos, and Kanchanar Guggulu are also traditionally used to manage thyroid issues due to their anti-inflammatory properties. Kanchanar Guggulu can help target glandular cysts and might offer support with the uterine cyst. The usual dose is 1-2 tablets twice a day after meals, but it’s imperative to consult an Ayurvedic doctor for personalized dosing.

Dietary adjustments can significantly aid treatment. Favor foods that cool the body; such as fresh fruits most vegetables, and whole grains. Minimize spicy, salty, and sour foods which aggravate Pitta. Including Amalaki (Indian gooseberry) in the diet could help in balancing the body’s excess heat.

Regarding the uterine cyst, beyond Kanchanar Guggulu, consider decoctions made from herbs like Gokshura and Shatavari, which might aid in reducing cyst size and mitigating any discomfort. Alongside herbal remedies, maintaining a routine that accommodates plenty of rest and minimizing stress through meditation or yoga can be beneficial.

Regular follow-ups with your healthcare provider are vital to monitor the condition’s progress, as large cysts or unmanaged hyperthyroidism can lead to complications. Ayurveda can be a supportive addition, but should not replace conventional treatments recommended by a medical professional.

Exploring Ayurvedic measures to complement your wife’s current treatment is a prudent approach, though remember it should not replace existing allopathic care without professional guidance. Hyperthyroidism and uterine cysts can often indicate an imbalance in the body’s doshas—typically, an excess pitta and vata condition. The focus would be on balancing these to promote healing and balance within her system.

For hyperthyroidism, a cooling approach is beneficial. Incorporating dietary adjustments like consuming more cooling foods—such as cucumbers, leafy greens, and sweet fruits—while avoiding hot, spicy, and excessively fermented or processed foods is advised. Ashwagandha is a revered herb in Ayurveda known for its adaptogenic properties and can help support thyroid function. It can be taken as a powder (about 1/2 tsp) mixed with warm milk before bedtime, but do monitor her symptoms closely.

For the uterine cyst, anti-inflammatory and detoxifying herbs can be helpful. Manjistha, known for its blood-cleansing capabilities, and Turmeric, for its anti-inflammatory properties, may support the reduction of cysts. A teaspoon of Manjistha powder in warm water once a day can be supportive. Additionally, Panchakarma therapies, especially Basti (medicated enemas), could provide relief, but these should be pursued under the guidance of a practitioner.

Encourage her to maintain a regular routine of yoga and meditation to help manage stress levels, as they can influence both thyroid health and cyst formation. If symptoms persist or worsen, a thorough evaluation and continued consultation with healthcare providers are crucial. Remember, integrating these approaches with existing treatments is essential, never substituting without expert advice.
