Doctors' responses

In a seven year, old child, anxiety, low concentration, forgetfulness, poor appetite, and dry skin, usually come from weak digestion nervous system, imbalance, not from a permanent mental problem When digestion is the brain does not get proper nourishment, so the child feels dull, anxious, and unable to focus

Start with Saraswathi aristha IML with equal amount of water twice daily after food Medha vati-half tablet, twice daily after food with warm water Aravindasava -5ML with equal amount of water twice daily after meals

Ensure the child sleeps early, avoids mobile screen, eat, warm home food, and drink enough water Do not force studies, keep learning, light and playful with regular medicine and routine for 2 to 3 months concentration, appetite digestion, and emotional stability, usually improve gradually

For addressing anxiety and depression in a 7-year-old, Ayurveda provides a holistic approach, focusing on mind, body, and lifestyle. Considering the symptoms you’re facing with your child—low concentration, forgetfulness, digestive issues, and dry skin—it’s important to assess the balance of their doshas, which are Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. In this particular scenario, it appears there might be a Vata imbalance contributing to these symptoms.

Firstly, improving digestion (Agni) is vital. Introduce a warm, easy-to-digest diet, favoring cooked vegetables, soups, and stews. Avoid raw foods and cold items, as they may aggravate the Vata dosha. You can include a pinch of ginger powder in meals to stimulate digestion. Encourage your child to have small, frequent meals, which can help in maintaining energy levels and improving concentration.

To address dryness in the skin, consider oil massage with warm sesame oil or almond oil. This not only nourishes the skin but also calms the nervous system, aiding in reducing anxiety. Gently massage your child daily before a bath or bedtime.

For enhancing concentration and memory, introduce Ayurvedic herbs like Brahmi and Shankhpushpi. However, it’s essential to consult with an Ayurvedic doctor to get the appropriate preparation and dosage.

Make sure your child participates in calming activities, such as deep breathing exercises or simple Yoga—like the ‘Child Pose’ or other age-appropriate asanas. This can help in grounding Vata by promoting relaxation and emotional stability.

Ensure they have a regular sleep routine, encouraging bedtime around the same time each night, creating consistency and stability. Avoid exposing your child to excessive screen time, especially before bed.

If these gentle measures don’t alleviate symptoms, or if your child’s symptoms are severe, consult a pediatrician or healthcare professional to rule out other conditions that might require different interventions.
