Flabby arms and thighs can be a bit frustrating, right? But, there's some stuff that might help. So let's look at it from an Ayurvedic perspective, focusing on balance and lifestyle. First of all, your age is on your side! Your body is still quite responsive to change. In Ayurveda, flab can be related to kapha dosha which leads to accumulation in tissues. We might focus on balancing this. A key way to tackle this is through diet and exercise, aligned with Ayurvedic principles. When it comes to diet, reduce heavy foods and those that are too sweet or salty. Favor light meals - think steamed veggies, cooked lentils, and grains like quinoa. Spices like black pepper, ginger, and turmeric can help ignite agni, your digestive fire, aiding in better assimilation and processing. Don't skip meals but also avoid snacking too frequently. Keep meals consistent, and don't eat too late at night. Now, exercise... regularity matters a lot. You don't have to go super intense; even brisk walking, light running, or yoga (surya namaskar can be great!) could work. Just 30 minutes a day to start. On another note, dry brushing before your shower is good for circulation and kapha accumulation. Use a raw silk glove or a natural bristle brush, moving from extremities towards your heart. Remember sleep is crucial too. Ensure you get enough rest as it facilitates tissue balance and helps in processing excess fluids. Try going to bed before 10 PM and ditch the phone/screens an hour before. Allows your body to reset. Lastly, drink warm water with some lemon in the morning. Not only does it wake up your digestive system, it aids in flushing out excess kapha. Feel free to start with these steps. They might sound a little old-school but that's where Ayurveda shines! Make sure to talk to a local practitioner if you need personalized guidance specific to your prakriti. It’s always about balance!
