Doctors' responses
Thank you for explaining your condition so clearly
Severe body aches with long standing dryness for two years does strongly suggest a deep imbalance related to dryness and depletion in the body In such situations matra basti is actually one of the best and effective therapies
Yes matra basti can help improve skin softness ,glow and lubrication But it will not suddenly make the skin excessively oily like cosmetic oiliness. Its action is internal and corrective not superficial.
Matra basti works by nourishing dried tissues ,calming nerve irritation ,improving circulation and restoring internal lubrication. When internal dryness reduces the skin naturally starts looking healthier ,and softer. The goal is balanced healthy skin not greasy skin
For severe long standing dryness and body pain usually a course of 7 to 14 sessions is advised Some may need up to 21 sessions depending on response age and tissue depletion. You will usually notice reduction in body pain sleep improvement and slight skin softness within the first week. Visible skin quality changes take longer and happen gradually
If your aim is to maintain or enhance a naturally oily supple skin after completing basti then supportive measures are important
After basti therapy you can maintain skin lubrication by Regular internal nourishment through diet Daily external oil application before bath two to three times a week Avoiding excessive cleansing hot showers and drying products Ensuring good sleep and stress control
Additional supportive remedies that help maintain skin softness include Take a small quantity of medicated ghee or nourishing oil internally as advised by your doctor Regular oil massage of the body especially joints lower back abdomen and feet
Include healthy fats like ghee soaked nuts, seeds ,milk and well cooked vegetables Avoid dry foods ,excessive salads bakery items and long fasting Warm freshly prepared food supports internal lubrication best
It is also important to understand that extreme oiliness is not always a sign of health Healthy skin feels soft elastic well hydrated and glowing rather than sticky or greasy.
Matra basti addresses the root cause of your pain and dryness
Once the internal balance improves the skin follows naturally Consistency patience and correct post therapy care will give the best long term results.
Thank you soo much maam, I doo have less metabolism and constipation as per sleep cycle its good I get enough of sleep, the thing is i dont have proper timmings for anything
Could you also tell me after doing matra basti what and all should I do to maintain vata balanced?? And how this vata imbalances occurred over the years??
Thank you for sharing this honestly,
What you have mentioned now explains a lot about why your pain and dryness have continued for so long. When metabolism is low and constipation is present along with irregular daily timings it clearly indicates a long standing Vata imbalance affecting digestion and elimination Even if sleep duration is good an irregular routine keeps Vata disturbed internally and prevents proper nourishment of the tissues
In your case the dryness is not only on the skin surface It is deeper inside due to poor digestion improper absorption and delayed elimination When digestion is weak and bowels are not regular the body cannot form good quality rasa and sneha This leads to dry joints nerve irritation body aches and rough skin over time
Matra basti is especially helpful in such a condition because it does not depend on strong digestion It works directly at the level of the colon which is the main seat of Vata By lubricating and calming Apana Vata it helps soften stools improves bowel regularity reduces internal dryness and gradually improves metabolism in a natural way That is why it is commonly advised when constipation and body pain exist together.
Along with basti internal support for constipation and metabolism is helpful when Vata is dominant,
At night take Gandharva Haritaki with warm water ,it lubricates the intestines while supporting elimination
castor oil with warm milk once or twice a week will help release deep seated Vata from the colon
Hingvastakchurna half tsp after meals with warm water can help digestion without increasing dryness Warm water sips through the day and ghee with meals support digestive fire while maintaining internal lubrication
About irregular timings you do not need a perfect routine
Even fixing one or two basic timings like having something warm in the morning and eating dinner at a similar time daily can make a noticeable difference over weeks
As digestion and elimination improve the body starts healing naturally Take warm n fresh food
Avoid long gaps between meals, dry foods ,frequent fasting and excessive cleansing.
When digestion improves and Vata becomes balanced the skin naturally becomes softer more elastic and comfortably oily and all these changes will be seen gradually
Vata imbalance does not develop suddenly It builds slowly over years due to repeated small stresses on the body and mind Irregular daily routine delayed meals skipped meals eating late at night or eating at different times every day gradually disturb Vata Dry light cold foods excessive salads packaged foods bakery items and low intake of nourishing fats increase internal dryness Mental stress overthinking anxiety fear emotional strain and lack of mental rest directly aggravate Vata in the nervous system Repeated fasting long gaps between meals excessive travel exposure to cold air air conditioning and lack of oil application weaken lubrication Over time digestion becomes irregular absorption reduces elimination slows down and tissues stop receiving proper nourishment This is how Vata settles deeply in the colon joints nerves and skin leading to chronic pain dryness stiffness and constipation
Matra basti works by correcting this at the root level After completing matra basti the most important thing is to protect the balance that has been created
To maintain Vata balance the body needs regularity warmth nourishment and calmness Try to keep meal timings reasonably consistent even if they are not perfect Eat warm freshly prepared food that is soft slightly oily and easy to digest Avoid dry cold leftover and very light foods especially at night Include ghee warm milk soaked nuts well cooked vegetables and simple nourishing meals
Daily habits are very important Gentle oil application to the body especially feet legs lower back abdomen and joints two to three times a week helps keep Vata grounded Use warm water for bathing and avoid very hot or very cold showers Protect the body from cold wind and excessive cooling
Mental routine also plays a big role Reduce overthinking multitasking and excessive screen exposure Maintain a calm wind down time before sleep Sleeping and waking around a similar time daily helps stabilize Vata
Constipation should not be allowed to return If bowel movement becomes irregular mild Vata balancing support like Triphala churna in small quantity at night with warm water or warm milk can be used If there is more dryness Gandharva Haritaki with warm milk is a better option For very stubborn constipation a very small quantity of castor oil with warm milk once or twice a week may be used under guidance These help elimination without increasing dryness and also support metabolism
Understand that Vata is sensitive but also very responsive Once balanced it stays stable when given rhythm nourishment and care You do not need strict discipline only gentle consistency When digestion is steady bowels are regular mind is calm and body is nourished Vata remains balanced
With proper post basti care pain dryness and stiffness can remain under control for a long time Your awareness and willingness to support your body is the strongest foundation for long term healing
