With hypothyroidism, gaining healthy weight is possible, but it requires care because thyroid imbalance can affect metabolism, digestion, and nutrient absorption. Ayurvedic muscle or weight-gain supplements can be used safely if your thyroid medication is taken regularly and your thyroid levels are stable. Ayurveda focuses on building strength, improving digestion (Agni), and nourishing tissues (Dhatus) rather than just adding calories. Supplements like Ashwagandha Churna ½–1 tsp with milk twice daily, Shatavari Churna ½ tsp with warm milk at night, and Chyawanprash 1 tsp daily can support muscle growth and weight gain. Include ghee and healthy oils in meals, along with protein-rich foods like legumes, nuts, and dairy. Light strength training and yoga improve muscle tone and metabolism. Avoid supplements that contain unknown or heavy metals or strong stimulant herbs without guidance. Regular monitoring of thyroid levels is important to ensure your medication and weight-gain regimen work together safely. With this approach, weight gain can be gradual, healthy, and sustainable.
