Namaste Kanchan Ji As you have a strong family history of Type 2 Diabetes, Ayurvedic management focuses on controlling sugar levels naturally, improving metabolism (Agni), and preventing long-term complications. Since your weight is under control and you are physically active, that is already a very positive sign. Along with your current Metformin 500, you may consider these commonly used Ayurvedic medicine Nisha Amalaki – helps improve insulin sensitivity and supports pancreas function. Glymin tab - 2 tab twice a day before meal Madhumehari Churna / Vati – useful for maintaining healthy blood sugar levels. Gudmar (Meshashringi) – known as “sugar destroyer,” helps reduce sugar cravings and supports glucose control. Karela + Jamun seed powder – supports metabolism and post-meal sugar balance. Chandraprabha Vati – helps in metabolism and protects urinary health. Lifestyle is equally important Avoid sugar, bakery items, cold drinks, maida, excess rice, and late-night meals. Prefer barley, millets, green vegetables, methi, lauki, karela, and high-fiber foods. Drink warm water and walk for 15–20 minutes after meals. Practice Yoga/Pranayama daily — especially Kapalbhati, Anulom-Vilom, and brisk walking. Regular monitoring of Fasting Sugar, PP Sugar, and HbA1c every 3 months is important. Do not stop Metformin suddenly; Ayurveda works best as a supportive and long-term balancing approach. With proper diet, lifestyle, and Ayurvedic support, diabetes can often be managed very effectively and future complications can be reduced naturally
