How to naturally support hyperthyroidism and reduce high calcium levels in a 46-year-old? - #53762
My relative, who is 46 years old, has been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and also has high calcium levels (hypercalcemia). She is currently taking thyroid medication but would like to know how she can naturally support the reversal of her hyperthyroidism and also reduce the excess calcium in her body through natural or holistic methods, alongside her current treatmen
Doctors' responses
Hyperthyroidism with high calcium needs a careful, supportive approach. Natural methods can help balance the system, but current thyroid medication should be continued. Focus on calming excess metabolism and heat. Diet: Avoid excess spicy, fried, caffeine, and processed foods Reduce very high-calcium foods (excess supplements, fortified foods) Prefer cooling, light meals – vegetables, whole grains, fruits Hydration is important to help manage calcium levels. At home: Coriander seed water (soaked overnight) in morning Amla (Indian gooseberry) in diet or as juice helps cooling and metabolism balance Stress control is very important (yoga, breathing practices), as thyroid is stress-sensitive. Praval Pishti – 125 mg twice daily Sutshekhar Ras – 1 tablet twice daily after food Giloy satva – 500 mg twice daily These help in reducing excess heat, supporting metabolism balance, and calming the system. Regular monitoring of thyroid levels and calcium is essential. Adjust treatment based on reports. Regards, Dr Raghuveer (Ayurvedacharya)
