What causes nosebleeds during periods in a 50-year-old woman in premenopause? - #54540
my wifes age is 50, she is presently in premenausal condition, she still gets her periods and in her last two periods she bled from her nose also for few seconds,her bp is normal and she is not on any medications,Is this because of high heat or premenausal condition or can there be any cause.The bleeding from nose stopped in few seconds . Kindly advice.

your wife’s symptoms (perimenopausal phase + brief nosebleed during menstruation) are usually understood as a Pitta aggravation with Rakta (blood) involvement, especially Rakta-Pitta tendency occurring along with Artava (menstrual) cycle disturbance. –Rx 1. Tab. Kamdudha Ras (plain) 1 tab BD after meals 2. Praval Pishti 125 mg BD with honey/ghee 3. Syp. Ashokarishta 15 ml + equal water BD after meals 4. Shatavari Churna 1 tsp HS with milk —Advice Take cooling diet (coconut water, pomegranate, milk) Avoid spicy, fried, heat-producing foods Keep body cool, avoid sun/heat exposure
This can be due to pitta aggravation and hormonal changes in premenopausal phase. Mild, short nose bleeding during periods is usually not serious, but if it repeats frequently, evaluation is needed. Ayurvedic treatment and dose Praval Pishti 125 mg twice daily after food Mukta Pishti 125 mg twice daily Kamdudha Ras 1 tablet twice daily after food Amalaki Churna 3 grams once daily in morning If bleeding occurs Put 2 drops of cow ghee in each nostril Diet Avoid spicy, sour, heat producing foods Take coconut water, amla, milk If bleeding becomes frequent or heavy, consult ENT doctor and do blood tests.
