They look for warning signs like optic nerve damage (glaucoma), retinal bleeding or swelling (diabetes-related retinopathy), narrowed blood vessels (high blood pressure), and yellow deposits (age-related macular degeneration). By analyzing these images, doctors can detect early-stage diseases, sometimes even before symptoms appear.

Ayurveda offers several natural ways to maintain eye health and prevent vision problems. Triphala, a blend of three fruits (Amalaki, Bibhitaki, Haritaki), is well known for its benefits—when taken internally or used as an eye wash, it can strengthen the optic nerves, reduce eye strain, and improve circulation. Other beneficial Ayurvedic herbs include Saffron (Kesar), Brahmi, and Gotu Kola, which support eye nourishment and cognitive function.
